in one ear and out the other

Post by disneyprincess1988 » Wed Feb 17, 2010 6:55 pm

Why, oh why, must Guests feel the need to waltz right onto the ride vehicles without getting clearance from the CMs? I just finished training and my assessment at GMR and already, I can name at least 3 instances where I have had to pull people off the ride vehicles because they walked on without listening to where I told them to go. *rolls eyes*

Training, as soon as the door/gate opens they just walk straight ahead. Kinda like cattle.

Maybe they think they're sheep? ;)

But seriously, I feel your pain. It's also annoying when they choose their own row, or won't move all the way down a row.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Perhaps CMs assigned to such duties should be allowed to employ canes in the manner used by Willy Wonka in the famous "Chocolate Room" scene. Quickly whipping it in front of folks intent on proceeding where the shouldn't might make them stop and listen. :)

I have seen SG do that at Camp Snoopy. When I did ROP, I trained in foods at Camp Snoopy resyaurant. There were 2 eating areas and a party room upstairs. One day a family went under the ropes and decided to go up stairs. My manager went up stairs and told the family that the eating upstairs was closed. The family did not want to budge. Security was called and the family was escourted to the lower eating area that was open.

For a minute there, Turkeyham, I thought you were going to say they went into the employee breakroom upstairs. Believe me, you would've had no problem getting them out of that dump!

You think people going on the ride without direction is bad--try telling people only so many per ride unit, and watch them pack more than that into one unit. Especailly if they don't speak English, and you show them how many with your fingers, but they sit there and laugh at you when you come around to check.

Oh yes, I've had that happen with Guests cramming more than the maximum allowed per row (The GMR vehicles can only seat 6 per row, with the exception of the rows that can accomodate wheelchairs. Those seat 4 per row.)

My step brother worded attractions several years ago. He was grouping on Small World. He told this SG group which lines to go to. Apparently the SG did not listen. He and his leads told me that the boat started off and then slowly sank on the track. I was laughing because that made my day. :D:
