How Cold Is WDW?

Post by hobie16 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 9:06 am

I just saw the weather report for Orlando. It predicted temps in the low 30's for the week. Break out the thermal underwear.

That's like a heat wave for me!

Actually it's like 26 here & snowing so it isn't too bad. This time last year we had a high of 0 with the wind chills around -15.

Hopefully the New England winter won't follow me down for my CP, because if that's the case then The Doctor will feed me to the SG's.....

I'm putting on my thermals right now. I'm not looking forward to going out the door to work. I'm a Florida boy, cold and I are NOT friends!

Just checked the weather and there's a freeze warning for tomorrow morning!

From Weather Underground:
... Freeze warning in effect from 1 am to 9 am EST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a freeze
warning... which is in effect from 1 am to 9 am EST Sunday.

Low temperatures are forecast to fall to between 27 and 32 degrees
in the warning area... with some mid 20s possible in the colder rural
locations of lake and Volusia counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Interests with cold sensitive vegetation should start making
preparations to protect plants. Make sure your home heating
system is in proper working order.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Darn cold weather! I hate cold weather. This is the reason I left NJ. I want warm weather back! :(

I'm shivering in 62 degree temps. It's suppose to get up to 82 later.

Being from New England, normally I'd just say to put an extra layer on and tough it out, but I have been to Disney when it's gotten into the high 30s. There's something just incongruous about seeing palm trees and being cold that gets to me. So I definitely understand where you're coming from.

I just pray that you won't have to deal with the SGs who yell at you because it's too cold...

My landlord and landlady are from Vietnam, and the coolest it gets there is 72 degrees. Needless to say, they're freezing in the temps we're having! The coldest on record it's gotten in my neighborhood is 22 degrees.

I once noticed that there is a town in Florida called Frostproof; I looked up the record low on the Weather Channel site, and there have been times that Frostproof failed to live up to its name!

The record low in Hawaii is 12 degrees, but in all fairness it was recorded on the top of 13,770 ' Mauna Kea. Yep, the weather she does get strange sometimes.

I work in and out of coolers/freezers all day (usually there by 5 AM) so small drops in temp aren't that big to me. although a coworker and I are sitting back going "Hm..and global warming is going to happen...when?"
