Scambaiting

Post by deathcomesarippin » Fri Dec 11, 2009 7:12 am

I havent been here in some time (im more of a lurker though.) I triped upon a website the other day called 419eater.com and was introduced to a new form of entertainment. Scambaiting, sounds like fun to me. I was just wonder if anybody here knows of it? its like when you get junk mails with people trying to take your money, you turn it around on them and make the scammers do crazy stuff.

p.s. but I have yet to find a scammer.

I was just reading on that site earlier this week, the newer link on the Archives page where the baiter got some lads to travel from Nigeria to Sudan on the hopes of stealing (non-existent) money intended for refugees!

I thought 419eater had been mentioned on SGT before, and a search turned up this thread -- with our own beloved Big Wallaby listing scambaiting as one of his favorite pasttimes.

Ah, yes. The Eater. My first home on the internet. I haven't done scambaiting since I was in Portland... but now I have the resources available to do it safely again. Now, I just need the time...

No, I won't tell you who I am over there, though some of you will recognize my writing style...

Before you do that, start by reading the stickies for about a month, then do some simple ones. Never start out with that as your endgame... let that be a bonus when it happens. I had one scammer send me a bunch of artwork, as I was doing an art school for the scammers. I have to say, if they were to put a tenth of the effort into art that they do scamming, they would do themselves very well.

hehehe Isn't that the truth.

we always wanted to send "referrals" to that site, when we ran across them, but policy prevent that.

that was also our observation, if they used half of the effort in some ligitamate business, they would be successful.

good old greed at work!

I keep getting the occasional ,"Your computer has been infected by visiting this web-site" kinda stuff. I didn't know that going to the state lottery site was that bad? So Albert,(bless his pointy little head),has to reformat the system. Would this work against these yahoos,or are they just fishing.
