DLR trip report: Best. Day. Ever!
Hubby and I went to DLR around 10:00 am. First awesome thing: We got to park in the Pumbaa lot and take a nice bus about two blocks to the main gate. It took seven minutes from parking to main gate.
Went to DCA to pick up fast passes for Soarin'. Got hand stamped and went to DLR. I forgot my visor in the car so I stopped at the Mad Hatter (is it still called that?) on Main Street and found the most awesome "Disneyland Est. 1955" baseball cap.
Next we walked to the castle. There was a show going on in front so we took the path to the right. My hubby had never seen Snow White's Grotto before! Then we discovered that Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-thru was open! Awesome! Next we rode Snow White and then went to get Fast Passes for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.
After that we crossed the Hub and walked to Frontierland. They had a "Dia de los muertos" exhibit that was amazing! Next we went to Pirates and Haunted Mansion to see the Nightmare Before Christmas. We did not have to wait in line at all. They've added even more stuff this year; the banquet scene is spectacular.
I met a really nice CM (appeared to be a merch supervisor) named Bob who has worked at DLR for 22 years and we talked for a long time about how things have changed. While standing by the river, I heard a guest ask, "Are those ducks real?" and the CM (not Bob) said, "Yes sir, but the water is fake!" That guy is my hero!
Then we headed back to Buzz Lightyear and on the way got Dole Whips! When we got to Buzz, I discovered that I had lost my Fast Pass! But Mr. Matterhorn had his, and the kind CM let me go in. Mr. M scored 176,000 points!
Stopped by the Plaza Inn to see Purpura. She is back at work and feeling better, says she just gets a little tired. I think a lot tired. I watched her doing a birthday party, and she is so good with the kids. I gave her lots of hugs and told her I'm praying for her.
Next stop, City Hall, to give guest compliments to all the CMs who had been so nice.
A quick run back to DCA for Soarin'. Met some nice people in line who were riding for the first time. Out the gate at 2:48, picked up the shuttle and drove out of Pumbaa at exactly 3:00. Stopped for Mexican food on the way home and now we're watching the World Series.
It was the best day ever!

Forgot to mention that we asked for the front row at Soarin'. CM was super-nice and said "No problem!" We had never sat in the front before. It was nice flying with no feet in front of us. Gave that CM a compliment at Guest Relations, too.

Glad you had such a nice day! :) We were there, I didn't know you and Purp were there or I would have tried to say Hi!
It was pretty crowded, but we managed to get FP for Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. They add more to Haunted Mansion Holiday every year! Did you smell the Gingerbread smell as you went past the ballroom?

I was at DL yesterday too. The Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy was AWESOME. As a long time employee of Knott's and many Halloween Haunts, I thought I had seen it all. I think with Ghost Galaxy, Disney has raised the bar. The music, the effects (especially the lighting and effects outside, WOW!), the whole experience was extraordinary. I can't wait until it comes back next year!
