It's A Story...

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Here's another story:

I JUST NEED A NAP

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home, and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me; I gave him a few pats on his head.
He then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the
hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall, and again slept for about an hour.

This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: “I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon, your dog comes to my house for a nap.”

The next day, he arrived for his nap with a different note pinned to his collar:

“He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?”

A friend of mine took me and Tripod to the vet on Monday for Tripod's twice-annual bloodwork, and they had that on the bulletin board in the waiting room. I've read that story before, too, but I think the version I read had 10 kids--I could be wrong.
BTW, Tripod's bloodwork is fine--her T-4 values are a bit high, but the vet says they're still in the normal range, and that I should just keep on doing what I'm doing. I'm a bit concerned though, she seems to have lost 1/2 a pound--she weighed 6.2 lbs. in April, and this time she was 5.7 lbs. She only stands 8 " tall at the shoulder, plus she's always been thin--takes after her grandmother--but the last time she weighed that little was when she had that pancreaitis, and looked like a furry skeleton. She looks okay, so maybe it was because she was moving around on the scale. Of course, she's getting her winter coat on, but when I put my hands on her, she doesn't feel extra-thin. I can remember when she topped out at 8 pounds, but she was a lot younger then....
