RIP Mr. Tom Morrow
Well I was saddened today when I found out that ALL of the TTA spiels were replaced. No more:
"Tomorrowland Transit Authority metroliner non-stop now departing Rocket Power Plaza Station for a round trip super skyway tour!"
"The Tomorrowland Metro Retro Historical Society presents Walt Disney's 20th century vision of the future...."
"NOWWW APPROACHING MICKEYYYSS STARRRRR TRADERSSS!"
"Now arriving at Space Mountain, Tomorrowland's gateway to the galaxy"
"Paging Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow, your party from Saturn has arrived, please give them a ring"
...just to name of my few of my favorite spiels. :(
The new spiels can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF5DyKlZn-8
I don't hate the new spiels...but I don't love them. It's like the Monorail spiels now...you can't hear them. I will admit I like certain parts where it talks a bit about the COP. But for the most part, it's like a commercial now.
Any thoughts??

Re: RIP Mr. Tom Morrow
while I do understand that change is inevitable - its nice to have favorite standbys to go to! and Paging Mr Morrow, was always a "soothing" favorite!
It wont keep people off the ride, but its still a sad day when they find the need to get rid of the classic jokes!!

"Paging Mr. Morrow" is gone?! What were they thinking?
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…

I'll have to ride the TTA when I go to the park Tuesday to play. I tried watching the video but the sound quality is so bad I closed it.Monorail_Red wrote:Yep - it's sad. Same thing with Perfect Park Acres.

Bah! thumbs down from Bru and the Saint! No more puns and gags, no more "conductor" announcing the next station. I miss the old spiel!
On the bright side, whoever filmed this did a GREAT job of it. Crisp picture and sound. Usually the stuff on youtube is impossible to see and hear. LOL
so if you wish to experience the new TTA, just click the link below.

(I didn't watch the video red posted, but this one was pretty good)

Well at WDW the wonderful spiels were there as of Sat when we rode a couple of times.
We look forward to each little blurb along the way :p:

Now you might have an idea of what you're in for! :thumbdn:Shorty82 wrote:I tried watching the video but the sound quality is so bad I closed it.
Yes, that video is better than the one I found. But it doesn't make the new TTA spiels any better!Saint March wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6EnR8fxcs4

I would like to also renew my statement of the TTA now being a "commercial"
