Stupid Directions Trick!

Post by GuestJockey » Tue Sep 29, 2009 6:41 pm

Yesterday, as I walked across the Esplanade, a woman stopped me to ask what time pyro was and where she should watch it from.

Me: "The fireworks show is framed around the castle, so if you're anywhere on Main Street where you have a good view of the castle, you're in a good spot."
Her: "Uhm...ok. ...Which castle? There seem to be quite a few."
Me: "..."
Me: "...the ...big one?"
Her: "Uhm...OK, thanks."

when i did that statistics experiment so many years ago, i asked whose castle it was to people in the park, and i did get "there's a castle?" and "which one?"

the latter would make sense, except for the fact that, despite expectations, there's really only one castle (i actually had to think about that for a while... it seems like disneyland might have an additional castle somewhere...) :D:

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

People think that it's a small world is a castle. I get asked all the time if it's the castle or what's in that castle and other similar questions.

Which are roughly the same size as the one at the end of Main St. I can see how a guest who is used to WDW might get confused.

Now that's just low......we'll see if I take you around town next time you're out here. :p:

Well, you know, we always have the fact that Walt walked in our park. :D:

Very true. :D:

And you know, Walt wanted Disneyland's castle to look the way it does. ;)
