A few notable Stupid Guest Tricks

So I was in the World for another wonderful trip over the weekend and I encountered a few Stupid Guest Tricks worth mentioning.
SGT#1: (Thursday) Disney’s Magical Express will not go through the overhead bins to take your carry-on items to your room.
Well I can’t call it a Stupid Guest Trick because it was a grandmother with her grand kids who probably didn’t know how the system worked…but I did get a kick out of it. They had the DME tags on their carry-on bags! But being the CM material that I am, I made sure that they did not leave their carry-ons behind!
SGT #2 (Thursday): Character dining is only for those who are eating at the restaurant.
Thursday afternoon I had a reservation at Garden Grill as it was my sister's birthday. When it was time to leave, there were people coming up on the rotating part of the restaurant to take pictures with Chip & Dale…interrupting them while they were visiting other tables.
Perhaps the SG didn't know, but still - those of you who know Garden Grill know that the walking around can be a bit tight. The SG was bringing her kids up on the rotating part of the restaurant, walking right past the CM's asking them if they had a dinner reservation. The character attendant on duty had trouble getting up there due to the jam that the SG's caused. Somehow a CM was able to get up there and break up the chaos!
SGT #3 (Saturday): The floor is designed for a SG’s weight, not the ceiling.
So I’m onboard Monorail Black headed towards MK. From the Contemporary to the TTC, it was standing room only. There were lots of (big) kids in the car with us. They decided it would be fun to hang from the ceiling of the Monorail. In the station I thought nothing of it, but when we started moving I got concerned. I had no doubt that the ceiling and handrails would hold the weight…but while accelerating and breaking…the kids are jumping from handrail to handrail, and you could feel the car rocking because of it. I thought for a minute it may cause a beam contact, then I figured it is very unlikely. You would need a lot more shifting weight for the air ride system to fail to compensate for the change.
SGT #4 (Sunday): Pick up your own trash!
I was grabbing a quick bite to eat at the Contempo Cafe before I headed back off to MCO to fly home. So I sat down to eat my lunch, and across the food court I saw three tables pushed together. It looked like one big family with several little kids, parents, and grandparents. I thought nothing of it at the time. I just noticed that there was a lot of trash on the table. About 5min later I notice that they are gone and they left all their trash behind! Trays, containers, wrappers, beer bottles, and pages from the kids' coloring books. I mean it's one thing if you forget one piece of trash or two, but to leave everything behind and make a huge mess? It is a food court not a restaurant. Even at restaurants I try to consolidate my trash so it's more convenient for the waiter/waitress to remove.
SGT #5 (Sunday): WDW refillable mugs aren’t valid at McDonald’s.
Title says it all. At MCO waiting for my flight to take off I got a smoothie from one of the food vendors next to a McDonald’s. There were some SG’s there that were having their kids fill up the WDW mugs at the soda fountain. I’m surprised an employee didn’t come out to put a stop to it.
That's all for now...
