I never thought "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" had anything to do with drugs. To me, it was a song in "Yellow Submarine", and was part of the trip to Pepperland. I thought they were just being creative.
Wonder what she thought of that one skeleton they found in Africa they named Lucy because they were listening to the song as they were wondering what to call her. In fact, I think it's even part of her Latin name. Funny how they didn't mention that bit.
