Have you ever thought about getting your record expunged? It might be worth spending some money on a lawyer to see if it's possible.

Disney takes finger prints and performs background checks on everybody they hire and can and will dismiss anyone who fails it. I don't know how far back the check goes nor what type of things will make someone fail it. Best of luck.

one important point, make sure you put it on any forms you fill out, so right up front they know. If you don't put it there, it looks like you are trying to hide something, putting a negative slant on it from the start.

the forms we use has an area that you can explain any arrests/convictions and so forth.

the fact that since your conviction you have graduated college and held a steady job with responsibilities shows your realibility and work ethic.

The chances are slim. A friend of mine got a job at DL. She forgot to mention that she had a felony arrest for a crime. She lied on her application. A few months later, she was let go and told not to come back. This was about 7 years ago.

Perhaps she was fired because she LIED on her application. It usually pays to be up front. You have paid your debt to society and have become a contributing member. Good luck.

I think the vast majority of companies don't go back any farther than 10 years. The only thing that would be an exception would be the military and government, which would go all the way back. And police departments. But I've watched enough episodes of Cops to know there are a few cops who had a prior arrest record, but they managed to become officers; it's just a matter of paying your debt to society and keeping your nose clean afterwards. I don't see where it would hurt to ask the HR department if an old conviction would have any effect, or ask how far back they go. Because most companies figure anything over 10 years old is irrelevant anyway, and would cost too much in time and resources to track down.

I donno. The last time I interviewed, they asked about my getting busted for transportation of a low yield tactical nuclear device over state lines.

Next time put it under 'your' seat and NOT the spare tire. Worked for me.
