Eunice Kennedy Shriver Tribute
Eunice Kennedy Shriver was a rare individual of great talent who gave so much warmth, heart, and courage to millions never having an advocate nor voice until 1968. Eunice recognized those with challanges were a gift to society and must be given respect. This awesome lady with quick, funny Irish wit and the tenacity of a bull created The Special Olympics from a dream to a goal to an amazing reality. Eunice never gave up her concept. She was beyond futuristic in her plans. Eunice was a bright visionary with a purpose who wouldn't accept the word "can't." She demanded extreme extraordinary effort from others. Telling Eunice "no" seemed a mortal sin. She asked the insurmountable from family, friends, and her Special Olympics' Board. Eunice was a tireless workhorse who never requested anything from others she would not do herself. The world Thanks You Eunice Kennedy Shriver for your great endeavors. Rest In Peace knowing your Special Olympics will always continue and thrive.

Re: Eunice Kennedy Shriver Tribute
That was a very nice tribute, Main Streeter! :)
You all know how I feel about including the "Differently Abled" in the Mainstream whenever possible- Through Special Olympics, so many can feel
the joy of being able to compete- and win! :) Their Families get to experience
the fun and excitement of cheering on their loved one, moments that other people just take for granted.
Ms. Shriver worked for this in a time when inclusion was basically unheard of.
