Sam the Koala Won't Be Down For Breakfast

The four year old koala, who survived the fires in Australia earlier this year and was shown worldwide being given a drink of water from a bottle by firefighter Richard Tree, had to be humanely euthanized during surgery.

Poor little guy. He was a fighter, a survivor who touched many hearts. His amazing rescue did give many hope. Sam's Hope. A Koala to remember.

Well, you know, the cousin in show biz is always the odd one in the family. Plus we didn't want to dredge up the old rumors that he was the one who started the fires in the first place.
Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

I remember him saying that a Rhino would show up and stomp the fire out, he was sure of it. I think his last words were, "hold my beer and watch this..."
