I witnessed my first domestic dispute.

Post by goose » Fri Apr 09, 2004 2:17 am

Anyone ever been lucky enough to see these? I could go on and on about this for pages, but I won't.

He was yelling at his wife for over a minute. It had something to do with their daughter. I knew it was going to happen. I just knew it. He slapped her with an open hand. You could hear it from a hundred feet away. Two other cast members were present. I told a custodian to go call security. He ran to the Mad Hatter and called someone. A couple guests asked me if we were doing anything about it. I told them yes. The woman was crying. The guy said something like "You're going to call the police on me because of my kid?" After a couple mins they went back to Mainstreet.

I talked to a security guard. He said the guy admitted to it. I think a police report was filed, because he did this in public. I also talked to another security gaurd today. She told me that a domestic dispute happens at least once a week. But she says that during Hoilday seasons it will happen as many as 3 or 4 times a day!!!

It just saddens me. Men like him beat their wives on a regular basis. They also manage to permanently scar their children.

If this is the behavior they demonstrate in PUBLIC at DISNEYLAND, just imagine what monsters they are in their own home. Pathetic.

We had a simular incident last weekend. A guy had hit his wife in the parking lot for downtown disney, and fortunately for us, an off-duty police officer saw the whole thing. They called out security, who in turn called out Anaheim PD, and he was arrested as he tried to leave the parking lot.

Everytime I have had something like that happen I get the 90 year old security guard nammed Howdy respond. I'm thinking WTF if this guy is going to hit his wife or kids what is this 90 year old going to do about it.

boy have security's attitudes changed or what since I quit...

I remember seeing a woman beating on a little boy about eight as they were leaving Pirates, and our lead called security - they told us that there was nothing they could do about it because it was a "private family matter" I'm glad they've changed their minds about that stuff...some people have no business being parents or being married...

wow birdmom, it's good that they've changed their policy on that. Although I do remember a lead who had that same attitude of "what do you want me to do about it? It's their family." I'm so glad he's gone.

It's really amazing that people will still beat their wife and kids in Disneyland right infront of hundreds of other people.

We had to get security because a father was beating his 6 year old daughter for dropping "too much" popcorn on the ground. I don't know what happend after security took him away though.

Screw that. I've yelled at people myself for doing that. I told some lady to stay off her kid after he spilled something in the queue. I just told her that kids will be kids and they spill things.

I also told some guy that if kids don't feel safe in Disneyland where can they feel safe? I can NOT tolerate that kind of behavior. It's Disneyland for Christ's sake!

I figure if someone hits me then my college education is paid for.
