I was sad to see that Gary Sinise won't be there, but I think it would be way cool to see Whoopi Goldberg.

Um yeah. I have a feeling there will be a long line for that one. I would say she is the biggest celeb they have ever brought in for that.

Personally I'm still kicking myself for missing James Earl Jones. I've also tried for two years without success to see Neal Patrick Harris (always end up busy when he is there, and now it looks like I won't have a chance this year unless he's the TBA).

I think I will be attending for Steven Curtis Chapman, Whoopi Goldberg, or Angela Bassett. Although, I am interested to see who the TBA narrator will be.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I saw it with Mario Lopez who was okay, and Marlee Matlin who was absolutely amazing. The "translator" had a dramatic voice, and watching her sign with such passion really brought it to a whole new level.

I didn't see Mario, but agreed about Marlee Matlin. I love ASL anyway, but she had such passion in her presentation, and her reverse translator was dramatic and brought a whole new dimension to the narration (though it took a few minutes to adjust to a male voice with Marlee at the podium).EeyoresButterfly wrote:I saw it with Mario Lopez who was okay, and Marlee Matlin who was absolutely amazing. Equally good was the ASL translator stage left interpreting the songs. We were seated in front of him, and he was a delight to watch. He was performing, not just translating.

That's one thing I'm looking forward to for the show. I took ASL in college, and I can't wait to watch the interpreters.BRWombat wrote: Equally good was the ASL translator stage left interpreting the songs. I work with a lot of ASL interpreters, that is the service we provide. I am tempted to learn just so I can communicate with everyone I work with.

Mr. Syndrome and I saw Marlee Matlin one year just because we happened to be there, and it was amazing. It really was a new way to both hear and see the reading.
I have a friend who does ASL at the theme parks and on Disney cruises. It's funny; often when she's talking, her hands will automatically sign something too.
