Tinkerbell

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

some interesting Tinkerbell facts.

Tinkerbell, also known as simply Tink. was born in 1904, the first time she was written about by barrie. named Tinker because she was a fairy that mended pots and pans. at the end of the first book, Tinkerbell was thought to have died 1 year after wendy left neverland. and Peter had no more memories of her.

Yup.
Also, its worth mentioning that the official Disney spelling of her name is Tinker Bell. (first name and last name)

Please note, that I am NOT trying to be snide or steal your thunder Corey. I just wanted to add to the facts. :)

I met Margaret Kerry while on my CP program! :tink: She is such a classy lady!

She came through my line and was wearing a rather official looking name tag that said "Tinker Bell" I expressed curiosity about where she had acquired the name tag and to my surprise she explained that she had done the live-action modeling that they based Tink's movements on in the original Peter Pan cartoon. She told me about how Tink got her name. (she fixes the lost boys' pots and pans thus "Tinker" and speaks with the voice of a Bell.)

It totally bugged me that in the new Fairies movie that they implied that she was named after the bell that her "giggle" self bounced off of on the way to Neverland... I wanted to shout, "That's not why! Don't believe it! I know the story from the original Tinker Bell herself!"

I was completely blown away, let me tell you. :p: And I did tell just about everyone else I met that day!

"How much are the mugs? Well the 13 large signs at eye level all say the mugs are $12.99.. so I'm gonna go with that."
