Bathing Suit Season

Today I was reminded of one reason why I dislike Florida summers. I came across a woman who was not wearing a shirt, only a skimpy bikini top (and also very short shorts...). I eyed my coordinator because the woman appeared to be rather intoxicated...I already had a ton of people asking me questions and couldn't get over to her right away. So, my coordinator goes up and tells her she must put on a shirt. She gets snippy, says fine and walks away.

Then the fun starts!

My coordinator leaves, the SG comes back to the fastpass line still with no shirt on. I remind her that in order to ride, she must have a shirt on and at Disney parks in general, shirts are required. I am called some not so nice names as she pushes past me into the FP line. She gets to the merge point, where another CM tells her she must put on a shirt (although, they were going to let her ride and then get a shirt) but, the SG curses out the CM and storms back up the line, once again berating me and my coordinator who is back. She said we were discriminating against her because she was in a bathing suit and that it was common sense to wear a bathing suit in the summer in FL. I'm sorry...but if its not a water park, walking around in a skimpy top is totally inappropriate...even at a water park, but that's my opinion! I simply told her once again that a shirt was required and she said "You'll be fired when I get through!" She said some other not so nice things and I couldn't help but ask her how many people she had seen in bathing suits walking around...she didn't seem to have an answer! So I call up guest relations to give them a heads up, only to discover they already know who she is from 2 times earlier that day...oi vey...this is why I truly dislike summer sometimes!

...but I did have a nice, non SG tell me I was doing a great job after the incident, so that was good!

I see a lot of women wandering around wearing only a skimpy bikini. Even at the park gate some will have on only a bikini and flip-flops.





























But them I work at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.

Call Security. Security will be more than happy to instruct the guest. If she continues to get abusive, she will be trespassed. Period. If she is lucky it will only be for that day in the park.

Given your comments and her history. She would likely have her pass revoked, no refund, trespassed and be done with her vacation. If staying in resort room, she could very well be looking for a place to live with her party.

Trust me. This happens way more than you can know. We you need to let the appropriate people know -- even if your coordinator does not -- so they can handle this ass.

Agreed, but some of us (me:eek :) in a bathing suit are just asking for problems!

I'll ask Hobie for the nearest MuuMuu shop when I visit someday.... :p:

One good thing about being ecologically minded these days is that when a "weight challenged" person, such as yours truly, goes to the beach in a bathing suit, we no longer need fear getting harpooned. :D: However, there is still the problem of getting dragged into the water....do we have a whale smiley? I'm still on the library computer, and don't have time to look it up.

What's really sickening though, is women--and men--who insist on wearing small bathing suits and they are waaaay too big for them. If you've watched the old movie, "How To Stuff A Wild Bikini", you'll notice women back in the 60s had little love handles, but very little ones. Well, actually, I saw the bikini-clad dancers at the end, but you get the idea. Watch any beach movie from the 50s and 60s, and you'll see what I mean. Nothing wrong with tiny love handles with a bikini, but most people who insist on wearing them do not have little love handles, they have slabs of flab. A shame, since they are making bathing suits that are intended for those with less-than-perfect figures.
