Blackout Days for AP B-Day Gift Cards

Post by sean1966 » Fri Mar 20, 2009 6:04 pm

I was reading over on the Disneyland Forum about an AP guest not getting a gift card for his wife on her B-Day because it was a blackout day. Does WDW have the same thing? I haven't heard boo about this...

Yeah, pretty much the same rules apply.

Here is the FAQ section for WDW;

i don't think so. if your ap can't get you in, then you can pay the extra money (which, i think, is less than $69) to get in an then get your gift card (value:$69), or get a free pass into disneyland (disneyparks).

the whole point of the gift card is that a free birthday pass into disneyland is that an AP already gets in for "free", so disney figured out a way to reward APs.

if i understand the issue, i'm see too much complaining about this promotion.

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

smart1 is correct.

If an an AP's birthday is also a blockout day, then they can still get a free ticket into one park of their choice. OR they are always welcome to upgrade their pass out of their own pocket.

There's some info on that in this thread.

If it's a black-out day you get the free park access and are not eligible for the alternate prizes.
