At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

25 things...
There's a trend around Facebook -- which for all I know may have started elsewhere or be well-known to everyone but me -- to come up with a list of 25 things that people might not know about you. I thought it would be interesting to see what the regulars here could come up with. Here's mine:
1. I have both danced in a tutu and dropped my pants –- repeatedly –- in front of paying audiences.
2. Because of my early years in southeast Texas and then near Golden, Colorado, just downwind of the Coors brewery, the two smells that remind me most of "home" are oil refineries and fermenting hops.
3. I can eat fire. Yes, flaming batons, inserted into my mouth, on purpose. Make sure my wife isn’t around if you want me to demonstrate –- she hates when I do it.
4. I spent a summer with the Continental Singers, performing 81 concerts in 11 weeks, traveling first coast-to-coast from California to Maine and then returning across the continent in Canada.
5. My two older brothers each were killed suddenly –- one by lightning and one murdered.
6. I’ve been stopped by the police several times, but have never received a traffic ticket.
7. My first performance with the Vocal Majority chorus was before my biggest audience as a performer – 9,000 to 10,000 people at the Pepsi Center in Denver in 2007. Before that, 8000 with the Continentals at the Long Beach Arena in California, 1981.
8. I can embarrass my children just by threatening to practice my VM choreography in their presence.
9. I was a complete nerd in school. I even co-founded a Star Trek fan club in Junior High.
10. I can quote extensively from Monty Python TV shows and movies. And often do.
11. I have never unintentionally broken any bones in my body. (The only breaks have had were done purposefully to rebuild my ankle in my September 2008 surgery; before that, none.)
12. I’ve had seven years of French class and can barely hold a basic conversation in French.
13. I stopped trusting the press in fourth grade based on a single photo caption.
14. I lived in Colorado for eleven years, and went skiing only twice –- once downhill, once cross country.
15. I’m not a pilot but have subscribed to Flying magazine for over 25 years.
16. I try to limit my friends on Facebook to people I actually know. Except for Jeff Dunham, who graciously agreed to be my token celebrity.
17. The only college sports I follow are Baylor’s, and the only pro team I really care about is the Dallas Stars.
18. I know and am friends with all my cousins on my mom’s side of the family. I don’t even know how many cousins I have on my dad’s side.
19. Although I’ve sung in church choirs all my life, in school through high school I was just in instrumental music – playing the violin.
20. I never drank coffee until Starbucks came along.
21. Going to law school was a last-minute decision. I sat for the LSAT as a walk-in, with no prep course, and scored in the 99.7th percentile.
22. As a college student, I was one of those rowdy basketball fans who sat behind the opponent’s bench and taunted them the whole time.
23. Most people can take Benadryl to calm effects from allergies, but not me. I am allergic to Benadryl.
24. I am distantly related to Judge Robert E.B. Baylor, co-founder of the university, and supposedly also to Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, and Jimmy Swaggart.
25. I once went to an R-rated drive-in movie – in a church van.

1. I'm 26 years old.
2. I've lived in Michigan, New York, Florida, and The Netherlands
3. I'm a scuba diver, and have dove in Upstate NY in April, with a water temp of 39 F
4. I've been an ice hockey referee, including some time spent with the National Hockey League
5. If I can, I wear shorts anytime it's above 38 degrees (F). Unfortunately, my current costume doesn't have a shorts option.
6. I don't usually like to wear my watch on my wrist, it lives in a pocket, but I feel naked if I leave home without it
7. I'm the only one in my family that knows how to make my grandmother's cheese blintz recipe.
8. I've had my own website since 1995, when I started out with a very ugly badly designed page on Geocities. (bright cyan is not now, nor has it ever been a good background colour for a webpage) (I personally think my current version is much better, but I can't take any credit for the design, it's just a wordpress theme ... send me a PM if you want the URL (I know my identity isn't exactly a secret on this board, but I'd like to attempt to preserve some privacy if I can))
9. The most expensive item I own is my camera.
10. I say that (#9) because technically speaking, the bank still owns my car.
11. I've seen Illuminations and Wishes often enough that I can hear the music and visualize the explosions in my head.
12. I would love to get my fireworks certification, although I have no real desire to actually work with pyro on a daily basis.
13. I've worked at Walt Disney World for 4 years now.
14. My favorite food group is desserts.
15. I don't like to cook, but I love to bake.
16. I know the origin of the radio code 10-82.
17. I had my wisdom teeth pulled by an oral surgeon named Dr. Fear.
18. I used to play drums ... and still tap on pretty much any hard surface I can find.
19. I have a hard time sitting still for longer than about half an hour.
20. When I was at Syracuse, I was the announcer, scorekeeper, dj, penalty timekeeper, penalty box attendant, and net-pusher (so the net wouldn't get run over by a Zamboni) ... all at once
21. When I was in 7th grade, I did a report on the history and workings of a Zamboni.
22. I had someone offer to sell me their business when I was 22. (I didn't, and still don't have enough money to buy it)
23. I've been part of the crew for numerous television and stage productions.
24. Since 2001, I've been to all but 1 of the NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey Championship weekends.
25. I like to re-write lyrics to songs. (examples are posted on the blog referenced in #8 ... again, send me a PM for the URL)

Re: 25 things...
Ok, lets see....
1. I've lived in the same town my whole life, except 4 years of college half an hour away, during which I came back every summer to my home town.
2. I picked my college because I attended a daytime children's theater program there as a kid, and my mother worked there, and I was afraid to go someplace new.
3. There's a very good chance I'm moving to SOCAL within the next year with my SO.
4. I use the term SO (significant other) to describe my BF (boyfriend) because not all my SO's have been BF's.
5. I have ADD, but went off my meds Sophomore year of college because they were making me more high strung than I am naturally.
6. Naturally, I can be pretty darn high strung.
7. Although White, I'm also Hispanic.
8. I'm a Mezzo-Belter who's never had individual voice instruction. I did have group in the children's theater program tho, after age 13
9. Unlike many people I've done theater with, who by the time we open are chugging honey and throat coat like it's water. I've never hurt my voice, or if I have, it's never hurt.
10. My aunt taught me to sing "Doe a Deer" with prompts ("Do" "a deer a female deer") when I was 2, and "Castle on a Cloud" on my own when I was 3.
11. I've played male characters on stage 3 times. Twice after puberty. One wasn't human.
12. I'm not just an actor, I'm a techie. I've been on stage crew, an assistant master carpenter, received a special thanks in a playbill for another show for scenic painting, and am currently an Assistant Stage Manager.
13. In dreams, ice cream always tastes like wet sand to me. In life, I love it.
14. I'm Growth Hormone Deficient. If I hadn't had injections to supplement it, I'd have been 4 feet tall.
15. I have no proper fear of needles anymore, but I NEED to look when they're putting them in. Sometimes nurses have a hard time understanding that.
16. They like to get new nurses and med students to practice starting IVs on me and doing blood draws. In return, I critique their techniques.
17. To strange doctors, I look like I have tonsillitis all the time. My doctor knows they're just really that big.
18. I have Scoliosis, and wore a back brace for it for it from 14 to 17.
19. When I was 13, shortly after school ended for the summer, I tripped in the Kmart while carrying a 6 pack of IBC Cream soda, and landed hands first in the broken glass.
20. Less than a week after getting the stitches out, I tripped over first base playing kickball and blew out my knee. Spent the rest of the summer on crutches. First base was painted on the gym floor.
21. Though I would never join a social sorority, I am a member of the Alpha Psi Omega.
22. I have an Academic Letter from Junior High.
23. In school, I was in advanced classes and also went to the resource room. This lead to a lot of times where people would find out about resource and reply "But I thought you were smart!"
24. I will eat a bowl of Garbanzo beans for lunch, but not Hummus.
25. I have a large Café au lait spot on my left ankle.

22. I have an Academic Letter from Junior High.
