Tell me it ain't so, DLR has no greeters on rides

Post by mechurchlady » Fri Jan 16, 2009 9:03 pm

I am at my wit's end with a poster on another board. I and others have tried to civil like explain that she is wrong. I now come here as she is adamant that DLR had no CM greeters on any rides, that plaids could not tell answer her questions about wheelchair seating for the Electric Parade, and had a room that was not up to what she wanted but never complained.

I am asking for your facts. Is is normal for plaids to not know where disabled seating for the Electric Parade is? Is it possible that DLR had no greeters on any of the rides she rode? I know in my heart that my answers are right and Cheshire Figment nor Sue never corrected me and they know Disney better than I do. I talked with one of the ladies that posted and she was as frustrated as me about the whole post. I have been going to Disney parks since 1960 and you think that I would know how the parks work. Is my memory failing me?

I can't imagine not having a greeter at the attractions. There's always a greeter at every attraction here. Greeters are needed, they answer any questions a guest has about the attraction, they check heights for attractions with height requirements, they direct the handicapped to the correct entrance (if not the regular entrance), and I'm sure there's other things they do I don't know about as I'm not in attractions.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Some people just have their own agendas, and bring up stuff just to get attention. Maybe it's not the attention they want, though, and they end up dissatisfied
I wouldn't waste my time any longer on that thread ;)

Thanks both of you and you are right DisneyMom. I self doubt a lot and have had about 9 hours sleep in two or three days so am sleep deprived and a bit down. I am used to what Sue and the people taught me on that board plus what I learned on sweepstakes boards. I also learned so much from here.

Sue tells us that if you do not get what you need then ask for a manager. To risk injury trying to use a tub that is not made for wheelchairs for example. She is one smart lady. I posted one last time as I could not let her say I am mad at her. I thank you Shorty as I thought I was right about greeters.

Maybe there was a big greeter secret party at the Hyperion that day, lol.

Get some sleep, Churchy :)
I get upset about things, too, but lately I've discovered that a couple days after something or another, it usually doesn't seem important anymore.....
Of Course, two days is a loooooooooong time if it was something Hubby did! :p:

I went into Innoventions at Disneyland yesterday. There was a greeter there. My, my, they did change the lower level. But I did enjoy the house of the future. The tables that had the water reflection blew me away. I can just see Innoventions open on grad nites and see the reaction for the students touching those tables. I did not see much greeters in Fantasyland. I did see allot in Frontierland. None for Buzz Lightyear though. Wait, none for star tours and Roger Rabbit's cartoon spin. You are right, there was allot of them last week. What happen? What's sad, the outside comedy crew outside of the Golden Horse Shoe is gone. I can't think of the name right now.

I am nt married and have no siblings but I have a Calvin. I know God sent him to me as a test of my patience. Latest is the missing items that Calvin does not know where they are at. He gets cheap labour then wonders why I am frustrated with him. Crosses fingers as he has a bluegrass cruise leaving soon and if he does not show up then I will not end up giving him some. Giggles gleefully.

Not mad just frustrated. TAkes notes on why I have no living male cousins or half cousins and no siblings or mate yet I have a sort of adopted little brother. God what did I do to deserve this. OUCH, God just hit me with a long list, lol, and that is the first of many apparently.

Hmmm, this reminds me;

Since early last year, I have sworn off ALL Disney message boards except for this one.

I simply got tired of all the arguing, the bigots, and all of the insults that would get flung in my direction.

The Internet can be a cold, venomous place.

Incidentally, I decided to join SGT because, even though I am not a CM, I am certainly not a SG, and I feel for the CMs and I do enjoy hearing their stories.

And BTW, the statement that DL has no greeters on any rides is ridiculous. I have seen greeters on several rides. They are certainly there for all of the major rides and attractions.

I can, it happens all the time. When crowds are light, too many call-ins, or management just feels cheap, greeters are generally the first position dropped. Doesn't make it right, just not uncommon. Some locations don't really need a greeter on normal days -- Toontown RR Station comes to mind here -- but when the forecast is 75k+, even those attractions get one.

She done befuddled everyone because she keeps changing things.

DLR had no greeters on all the rides she went on.
Complaint about DCA
That led us to think she was complaining about DCA

Turns out she went on a few rides at Fantasyland. Disabled go through the exits there and there is no limitations on guests such as age or weight thus yeah there are no greeters on the rides.

Now she is upset that she could not ask a greeter some questions. Hun you go to the nearest janitor or salesperson at a cart and ask your question or tell that person that you need to speak to someone on a ride. That is standard policy for grocery stores, malls, banks, lumber yards, and amusement parks. If I have a paint question then I find a guy in hardware to find me a guy in paint at the Home Depot store. The lady in notions will find someone in linens for you.

Where is the head banging hissy fit frowny. She thinks I am mad at her boy she has never met calvin.
