Christmas Hell at the parks....

Post by pattimelt » Fri Jan 02, 2009 8:51 pm

So I'm a work today, working a 6th day(my last day off was the day before Xmas eve, and my next day off is Wed the 7th!), and it's unbelievably busy in the esplanade today. I honestly don't know where all these people came from. Anyway, I had this guest come up to me, nose in the air, to tell me that she was an "ANNUAL PASSHOLDER"(HER inflection, like it was a VIP pass!!), and she wanted to know why she had to wait in line to purchase an extra ticket for another guest that she brought with her. I had just about had it when this happened, as it was crowded beyond belief, and I was sick of being yelled at by guests, as I explained to her that everyone had to wait in line, and that everyone at Disneyland is special, so everyone has to wait, and being an annual passholder not only meant that she could wait in line today, but that she even got the experience of waiting in line MORE OFTEN than all those other people!!!!!!!! She had to think about it for a minute, and I think she finally got it, cause she smiled at me and went and stood in line..

I never knew a ticket booth line was an attraction..... :D:

But it is an attraction. There is the serpentine maze of chains to escape from and do not forget the chain swings. Would my GAC get me to the head of your line, pattimelt. Can I take my Belgian service horse in line? Are service llamas allowed in line or is there a seperate line for those? And your attraction is a B or D ticket to enter?

You were not kidding out the killer lines. I went to DTD with my friends. The parking was filling up very quickly. We parked over near the Disneyland Hotel spear parking lots. We walked into the DTD area and thought, OMG! It's New Year's Eve again!!! The security check lines were long. We decided to pick a line that was moving. We went to DCA and had lunch at the Winery resturant. I have no idea what the name was. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, 20 minutes to be served, 15 for food and 20 minutes for our check. We did not leave a tip because of the poor service we ended up getting. She cleaimed she was training someone. Ok, you are training the trainee to be extra slow and make hungry guest mad. When leaving the park we went back to my car and left. I hope the parks are not this bad when I come back on Sunday. I seriouly don't remember seeing the parks this crowded. This year was a packed year. I wonder if it was weather related? It was very cold out here too. 52 for the high's.

Hmm, the most crowded I have seen the park is when we were back in Critter Country and there were so many people you couldn't move. You just know it is bad if there are that many people back in Critter Country.

Well, the ticket line is not an attraction in itself, but it is cool when you happen to run into Pattimelt when you are getting your new AP ;)
It was nice to see you again Pattimelt, and I tried to behave! :D:

Man, why am I never around Pattimelt when she pulls the great ones...

Yes, today was crazy. Full queue in front of the booth. Then the line ran down the side of the booth. And then we made them do switchbacks on the back side of the booth and those added about ANOTHER queues worth of people to the line. And then all those just kinda had tails that ran off into the middle of the esplanade and kinda all met around the general area of the compass. Something like 90 to 120 mins for the booths between like 11 am and 3 pm.

God, Im almost looking forward to the Off Season here...

If you only knew how much I'm looking forward to the off season!!!!! By the time I get off work today, I'll have AT LEAST 72 hours this week, and I have a cold, so I'm miserable. And just when I'm getting ready to get off the clock yesterday, Scheduling calls and asks if I'd like MORE overtime and work a few more hours in the bank when I'm done in the GSB for the day!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!! Needless to say, I went home and turned down more OT....

On a more pleasant note, only 6 more days until I get on a ship for my cruise!!!!! (No, it's not Disney related. After the holiday season, the LAST thing I want to do is MORE Disney!!)
