Re: Question for Big Wallaby
I'm not BW but I know the answer.
Sadly the cab is not handicapped accessible. If you can transfer out of the ECV, walk a few feet, and slide along a padded bench and you have somebody who can take the ECV to the handicapped car and ride with it then you should be able to ride up front.
I'd recommend doing this at some time it is not busy so there won't be a rush to get you on and off the train at the stations.

Re: Question for Big Wallaby
While my group was out there, it was the samething. Some lady complained that she wanted her EVC in the front cabin with her family. The monorail driver said no and said it would not fit in the cabin. She had to ride with her EVC in another car.

Thanks for the Quick answers..
I am traveling Solo (in 3 weeks) so I guess I will have to wait for
another time to get that "Front Window Seat"

Re: Question for Big Wallaby
I would hope in the future that they can build a monorail that can hold EVC's in the front cabin. That would be cool because then our friends who are in a wheel chair can ride with no problems.
Have you been to Disneyland lately? Their new monorails have a better way of seating. Instead of being in a small compact area, the seats are now seated in the long ways. But, the monorail system at WDW has large carbins and can sit a good amount of guests.
Our favorite was taking the resort monorails and heading off to the Polynesian Resort and eating the vanilla dole whip in the 24 hour cafe. It was worth doing each night. :)

Re: Question for Big Wallaby
You can drive the ECV right up to the door, get out and walk a few steps. I am sure that if you needed strong men to help you that someone from the board would meet you there to make your trip special. I know you can do this.Eeyore Tattoo wrote:Can a ECV fit in the front of the monorail?

As you see you would only need a few steps, you can do this, hun, I know you can do this. I know that someone from the site will meet your there or you could probably park the ECV off to one side and then ride one whole trip. I know that strangers as well as the people on this board will help you. So just ask and they will help you get the ride you want. I do think that all you need is some pixie dust and faith that you can do this. I travel solo a lot and find that friends online and strangers alike are there when you need help.

I can walk, & if I can make it happen with a little help, I am going to try to get into that special place! Up front in the monorail. In all my 100's of Disneyland & world trips I have never been there..
I use a ECV because of FMS & CFS...
I will be at WDW 12/12 to 12/16

On this page there are some pictures that will hopefully give you an idea of what the cab looks like and the limited space to get in and out (that'll be the main deal buster if anything is I have a feeling).Eeyore Tattoo wrote:I can walk, & if I can make it happen with a little help, I am going to try to get into that special place! I'll be off on the 16th and would like to meet you and would be glad to help you out with getting into the cab. BW will hopefully also be off that day (he was supposed to bid on his shifts today and I haven't heard what he got yet, hopefully he'll have Tuesdays off like he wants) and I know he'd also be glad to help and as he is in Monorails might be able to help out in ways I can't.

Re: Question for Big Wallaby
BW might be able to help you with certain conditions. I did see a party with an EVC. One of the non front cabin guest's took the EVC in the cabin behind them and the other person who was in the chair was walked slowly to the front into the front cabin. I believe you can do it, take some extra time. :)

Re: Question for Big Wallaby
I have completed my 1st week as a Monorail Host. I can be of some assistance when you get here. If it is on a day that I am off or a day that I am in late, I can Watch the ECV for ya while you par-take in the Co-Pilot experiance.
I will see BW later this week and ill ask him if he would be able to help..
