SG Parent Leaves Child on Rock

Post by glendalais » Sat Oct 04, 2008 3:00 pm

OC Register: Father arrested after leaving 3-year-old alone on high rocks

Er....didn't he realise that if the kid rolled over and fell into the water, he would have two drowning people on his hands?

Yeah rolling off is one problem but what gets me is this:

"He had come to area with his son to go fishing with his father and cousin Ramon Mendez – none of whom could swim..."

WHY!!! Why do people go to a body of water without knowing how to SWIM!
I am not a fan of swimming laps...in fact I do all I can to avoid it...but I know how to swim!
All you have to do is go to a couple lessons and learn the basics and that is enough.

I have to agree that it is DUMB!! I remember learning to swim at a young age, and going through a red cross program so that if you did fall into deep water, you could survive!

people, if you're gonna be near any water, learn to swim!
