Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Hmm, Ko Olina has been such a nice, quiet uncrowded spot. Look out! Here it comes, instant Waikiki!
"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

Disney broke ground today. They expect to open in 2011. Expected to cost $800. 350 hotel rooms, 480 timeshare units.
Resort plans call for an expansive pool and water play area, an 18,000 square-foot spa, a wedding lawn, an 8,000 square-foot convention center, a children's club and two restaurants — one oceanfront.

Oh boy - progress!! :D:
Hobie - is that anywhere near the old Barbers Point NAS location? We used to swim at Black Rock Beach, which was the local name for one of the areas along that shore. There were no man-made lagoons back then, unless Pokai Bay at the Waianae Military Recreation Center was one of them.

Very close. if you Google Maps Barbers Point and pull back a few clicks you'll see the four Ko Olina lagoons to the west of Farrington Highway. DVC will be on the northern most lagoon.
