CM turned me on to this site, thanks as I need to know I am not the only one who gets totally annoyed with SG's
Not sure if this is stupid guest, stupid parent, or just bad gene pool all together.
Eating lunch at Le Cellier (too much food for lunch, but tasty), observe child (maybe 9 or 10) acting up at a table in our view. Mom yells several times, but child still does not listen. This is loud enough to get the attention of all diners in the area, and after she yells, there is no punishment and she goes back to ignoring child and stuffing her face. Child is still bouncing around the seats.
This is annoying enough as it happens several times. Then the best part happens, child is eating his fries and biting half of them and throwing the other half on the floor under the table, he apparently had done this before I first saw him as there was somewhat of a pile down there by the time I noticed it. Mother is ignoring it like it is not happening and sister across the table is also ignoring it (guess he was quiet so why stop him). I shoot my best evil eye at this kid and he finally notices that everyone else can see him, the fry throwing slows down a bit, but I think he was just looking around before he threw it now. Also, a nice piece of bun with ketchup went down there. To cap it off after all that he tries to eat some of his mothers fries, and she tells him to finish his burger.
Obviously these people are on the dining plan (one of the worst things disney has ever done to us law abiding citizens), and will likely leave no tip for the amount of cleanup that will be required for there unrestrained child and useless mother. BTW, the father was as far away as he could be from the child; at least he had the brains to chose his seat wisely.
What to do in this instance, I almost felt like going up to the table and telling the SG parent that while she is stuffing her face and intermittently yelling to disturb the rest of us, her child is creating a fry pile on the floor.
Disney is ruining the Epcot dining experiences one by one by encouraging SG's to dine with them.

Re: SGT at Le Cellier
Stuff Like That would inspire me to go over and say something like,
"oh my goodness, what a BIG PILE of food you have under there, you know, stuff like that could attract mice, we have two BIG ONES named Mickey and Minnie....." and walk away smiling.....
I don't know if that would be acceptable for a CM to do, I'm not one, just evil!
Welcome To SGT! :)

Re: SGT at Le Cellier
It is not the dining plan to blame. Management is responsible for keeping guest in control and should have explained to the mother that she was disturbing other patrons. I was in Rosewood and this mother allowed her kid to bounce from booth to booth. Another time it was a kid running into the work area and running around the restaurant.
The dining plan is not cheap. IF a party were to plan it right they could do WDW cheaper than paying cash but really not that much considering the effort. Also how do you even know they were on the dining plan? Read the board and you will see some humdingers like my post about the couple who left their kids in a restaurant alone while boozing in the bar for hours. Guest whose kids wreak havoc by screaming, throwing food, fighting and bugging other patrons.
Welcome to the site and please do sit down, buckle your seat belt and be prepared for a wild and crazy ride. Hugs and chocolates are free here. Sorry if I am a bit snippy but someday you will read about mom and know lol.

I would have been tempted to go over and say loud enough for everyone to hear, "I think your son dropped something under the table, it might be something you bought here"
Then just walk away!!

This is a reminder, really, that the definition of an SG includes being perfectly okay with ruining the experience for other guests.
And I knew I was forgetting something...

I haven't been around on these boards in forever and I'm so glad that I decided to check in today!
While I am a CM I know how hard it is to get int Le Cellier for lunch or dinner. Sometimes I wish people could be kicked out of restaurants to make room for others who are happy to be there and not ruin it for everyone else! I gladly would of accepted their reservation ;)

Re: SGT at Le Cellier
I suspect that a large portion of the SG's are not at Disney because THEY want to be there, but because they feel that they will be "the best parent ever" to their kids and the envy to their neighbors (cause who amongst us non residents doesn't take a sence of pride in puffing out their chest and saying "I'm going to Disney World!"
This translates into guests that arn't there to contribute to the magic, but to leach off it... and leaches suck...
