Soarin' Over California....aka:
Soarin' Over California....aka:
I had to compile a list of what our fabulous guests decide to rename this attraction as. Here's a few I can recall:
Flyin' over California
California Dreamin'
Soarin' over USA
you know, that one that smells like oranges
(guestures with arms/hand like a plane)
the virtual reality thingy
and my absolute favorite:
America the Beautiful
Flyin' over California

Soarin' over USA

You there, cake or death?

I had a similar one while working Fantasmic!, except the guest wanted to know how to get to Animal Kingdom. I explained to him that it was in Florida, and he got this really confused look on his face and said "Really?" I figured he was getting the name of some attraction wrong, so I asked him to describe what he was looking for and it turns out he really was looking for DAK. *sigh*IndyBob wrote:My favorite was when I was working Indy one day and a guest asked where Magic Mountain was, actually looking for Splash Mountain, so I told him to hop back on the 5 and drive about 2 hours north and exit on Valentia Blvd. He wasn't to happy with that answer and stormed off. LOL

My favorate since I do work in Florida is when a guest asks where the Indiana Jones Ride is and they are dead serious about it. We only have a stunt show in Florida so there is always mass confusion about it  Although after I told them that the ride is in Disneyland they asked me how to get there. I told them the best way is to get on an airplane and fly there; I cannot belive that they actually think I know how to get somewhere that I haven't been to :bang:

The most common name I get for Soarin' is "California Dreams"
Working at Golden Dreams, you get a lot of guests that come in and ask, "So, what is this exactly?" I explain to them that it is a 22 minute movie on the "Spirit of California." Then many of the times they'll ask me, "that's the one that flies, right?" I tell them no, that it is a regular movie theater. They usually don't even let me finish my sentence before they ask me, "well, where's the one that flies?"
My favorite is the teen/adult couple, usually being dragged by the chick asking where the Brother Bear show is at. After I tell them where to find the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, they hurry over there to catch it. I kinda laugh inside because I know that the guy is gonna hate it, it's pretty cheesy! It's more for little kids.

haha when they do that you should tell them, "no we do not have an attraction based on a corny 90s teen tv show that was basically a Saved by the Bell ripoff."SassyTinkrBelle8 wrote:The most common name I get for Soarin' is "California Dreams"
side note: California Dreams may have been a corny SBTB ripoff but I liked it.

for the life of me i can't remember the funniest name for soarin' but it had something to do with vibrating, because i told that woman that didn't know what she just sayed that if that's what that ride is, i'm coming with her! i'll think of it soon.
it is just utterly annoying when they come up to you holding a map, looking at it and still ask you where that soarin' ride is. i just point to it and say "right there folks! and we are here!" and try and run.
or my other favourite if i'm trapped in a booth:" well using the map that you are holding here you can see we are right here and soarin' is over there. let me dot the way to it!"
i know it's not belly laughs but it gives me satisfaction when they realize how stupid they were.
if i could just think of that name...
