When in doubt, shoot it.

Post by Driver_dylan » Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:44 pm

I guess I could have also Headlined with: "I said the nut was a 12 mm not 12 gage." but that's beside the point.
While watching CNN yesterday this story came over. - A man in Tennissee was arested over the weekend for disorderly conduct and the improper use of a firearm when he shot his lawn mower, reportedly because it would not start. When asked for comment, he was quoted as saying "It's my mower, and I can shoot it if I want."
   :hyper: :hysteria: :hysteria: :hysteria: Can't breath. Laughing too hard..... To much....Smartass sence overload..... To many remarks, can't find a place to start..... :kaboom: :kaboom: :kaboom: :ridicule: :ridicule:

Okay, much better now.

You know, I've heard of beating a dead horse, but shooting a dead lawn mower is a new one. I wonder if he had tried smaller caliper weapons before, or did he just jump to the big gun. That would certaintly void the warrenty (I'll stop now, but I think we deffinatly need a new smiley for this one.)
Several things struck me as funny when I heard this story. The biggest (besides the shotgun aspect) was the mans' responce. If this was anywhere else in the world I would have immideatly gone with he's completely crazy, but being from tennissee, you can't tell. Also, the story didn't say what part of the mower he was attempting to repair. If he was trying to fix the carboratior, he might have been trying to fix it by putting more holes into it. That might make it work slitely better. Finally, some brands of mowers (like my last one) deserve to be shot with a shotgun. Oh and one more for the road. ( told you I 'm a smartass) If the mower was a torro, do you thinlk he was just trying to put it down humainly.

VISA. It's everywhere you want to be, and a lot of places you don't.

Hmmm, you can always get a bigger caliber gun, but whats the point?

It would have been funny if he had hit the gas tank, then he would have had a lesson in just what combustible means!

He should do like I did, went green and got a push mower. No gas can's, no electric cords. and get a little work-out!

My Mom used to have a Push mower for the many lawn areas on our 1/2 acre when I was a kid. When she finally told my step-father she wouldn't do it anymore, he went out and bought a RIDING mower for himself!

Many years ago I got rid of the gas powered one because I don't like storing gas in the garage.

I went with a small electric one. But this year, with the cost of electricity, I decided to switch to the RUM powered one!!

hehehehe

x2 on the electric. I got one about 7 years ago.. best mower ever.

Now, at the greater than normal risk of ridicule, I can certainly understand the gentleman's urge to shoot the lawn mower. Prior to the purchase of the electric one, I have suffered many a bout of "mower rage".

In fact it was my wife who made the decision to go get the electric mower after I grabbed the last gas powered mower and did sort of a hammer throw type move and slammed it against a tree, because it wouldn't start.

I'm sure that there was also a "cloud of profanity" hanging over the neighborhood that day (Christmas Story reference...).

So, while I've never shot a lawn mower, I certainly understand..

I did not want to mow the lawn and it was a foot high so I mowed my father's initials in the front lawn. That ended my lawn mowing days, lol.

Only if it was a tracer round, see the Mythbusters Season 3, Car Capers - Exploding Gas Tank.
