Does GR Really Pass On Compliments?

Post by Syndrome » Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:36 pm

Last night, I stopped at Epcot Guest Relations on the way out of the park to pass on compliments for two CMs. They seemed kind of confused, then handed me a blank scrap of paper. When I asked if that was okay since the compliments were for two CMs from different areas, they handed me another scrap. I just wrote something out, signed it and included my email so they'd know it was legit, but it seemed really odd. When I did the same thing at DCA, they had an actual form that I filled out. Just wondering if they'll really pass the info on and give the CMs a kudo or if it ended up in the circular file.

That does seem kinda weird. I have always gotten a form to fill out for CM compliment/complaint issues. (I have done both so shush..lol)
Maybe it is me, but I have the worst time when dealing with folk at the Epcot GS. I always seem to get the ones who dont know what they are doing or having a bad day or whatever. Now at AK and MK, no problem.

That is weird. When I stopped by GR last summer, they gave me an email address to send my compliments to. I do know they got them, though, as I got a phone call thanking me for sending them in.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I know at DL they are passed on to the CM's and their managers. I left some compliments during a trip earlier this year and a lead who posts here confirmed for me they were passed on. I have also emailed compliments and recieved a reply from Disney thanking me for the email. Sounds like some new people that night who didnt know where the forms were.

I wonder sometimes myself. Once a few years back when Zazu was still "workin' on the railroad", I stopped at MK GR to laud him for his assistance on something and when I mentioned his name the CM sort of rolled her eyes and said-"Yes, I know Zazu, everybody has SOMETHING to say about him!" I'm not so sure if that was a good thing. :)

Well, I actually saw the official form tonight. We had another nice CM moment so we stopped at Epcot GR on the way out and they had one. While we were waiting for our turn, I was treated to listening to some of the stupidest guest complaints possible. I think one guy was rambling on about having to stand by a wall for Illuminations, but it got to the point where he was waving his hand over the counter...conversation should be over at that point, and his butt should be dragged out by security. I think it escalated to a manger, but we had to leave so I don't know how it turned out. Another rocket scientist was spazzing because he got there late and didn't know the park closed at 9:30 and therefore felt ripped off. That's why I like to make it a point to stop by and give compliments, although I think it only neutralizes .0001 percent of the stupid complaints.

Gives me an idea though... I'd love to just sit in the GR room and listen to the complaints as guests leave. They should set up couches and popcorn, and let us gawk at the Stupid Guests. :-)
