Re: George Carlin will not be down for breakfast
Just saw that. I was listening to an older routine on XM radio the other day, it wasn't on the XL channel (which is the one for bad language). He could be funny with our without the "7 words you can't say on television."
RIP George!

Re: George Carlin will not be down for breakfast
I am very sad this morning. He was always one of my favorite comedians. He had gotten a little cranky in the past few years, but he was before his time when he started. What a loss to the stand-up community! :(

George always had something interesting to say and provided a different slant on life. I always enjoyed seeing him in person.

Yes, this really bummed me out today.. So I'll honor it with one of my favorite bits.
It was from the "A Place for my Stuff" where in addition to the recorded concert material, he would do little commercials and announcements like a faux radio show. This was one of his "commercials":
"Hi, I'm Howard Beemer and I'm running for states Attorney General and this is my pledge to you. I promise, if I'm elected, if anyone breaks the law I will personally go to his or her house and beat the s*** out of them."
That has never failed to make me laugh... and for some reason in the margin of his book "Braindroppings" he just had the phrase "Slap a dead person". I have no idea why it was so funny, but I laughed at that for about 5 minutes straight..

You know that, wherever he is now, he, Lenny Bruce, and Sam Kinnison are all sitting around, having a cold one, and commenting on the true absurdity of the universe, and pretty much all three of them are using the seven words that you can't say on television.
For Randy, For Bonny, For Chris...

I think that he modified that bit, after cable television, and his HBO special!

I saw Carlin live a long time ago. Part of his show was an update on the seven words. Hilarious!!
