Fantasmic Side Show
Fantasmic Side Show
Mr. Syndrome went to see Fantasmic last night, and since there was a late showing he stayed and made it a two-fer (I was stuck at home doing travel agency work and cursing him under my breath).
He was sitting behind a family that embodied the result of what happens when a Dee marries a Dee and they produce a whole family of Dee Dee Dees (Carlos Mencia-speak). Their commentary was actually more interesting than the show...they apparently hadn't seen many Disney movies and didn't absorb those they did see:
"Look at that fish!" (Talking about Ariel.) "That fish, it has a tail! Look at that!"
"Wow, there's that Japanese girl! She's from Japan." (Talking about Mulan.)
"Aladdin! It's Aladdin!" (Talking about Genie.)
Oh well, at least they seemed to be excited about the show...I imagine that shiny objects excite them too.

"If you are a dee, please don't marry a dee, 'cause then your kids will be dee dee dee." ....Carlos Mencia
"It's the difference between champagne and carbonated pee!" ....Homer Simpson

I find that I have a hard time visiting the parks as a guest anymore because I'm always overhearing a guest giving their friends and family wrong or exaggerated facts and I want to correct them SO BAD! It's terrible really, but you're in line for the jungle cruise and someone is telling their mother "This ride ALWAYS had piranhas, I remember them!" and you want to turn around and tell them that they're actually a recent addition, then tell a story about Walt & "plussing", but you can't do it.
...oh god, my life is sad.

Re: Fantasmic Side Show
The worst for me was when I was sitting for DCT (as a guest) and an adolescent girl turned to me and started talking about Pluto and said that her friend saw Pluto get killed. I did correct her by saying that the unfortunate accident happened backstage and no guests saw it. I couldn't believe how insensitive she (and her friend) was! He was a living breathing person and his death had a huge affect on the entertainers who knew him. It was a tragic accident, and anybody who says they saw it just to get some attention is sick. I know she didn't realize that I was a CM in entertainment (I didn't know him), but still, you don't say that on stage.

Wow! I would loved to have slapped her silly! How could she say such a thing? :mad:EeyoresButterfly wrote:The worst for me was when I was sitting for DCT (as a guest) and an adolescent girl turned to me and started talking about Pluto and said that her friend saw Pluto get killed. I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Outside TL we have three sets of Signal Flags flying. One of the sets says "Piranha in pool". There are also two boards (one on either side of the plaza) that show all Signal Flags decoded so Guests can figure out what the signals are.GuestJockey wrote:t's terrible really, but you're in line for the jungle cruise and someone is telling their mother "This ride ALWAYS had piranhas, I remember them!"

Untrue. Javiar died (may his soul be cracking them up in heaven), but Pluto lives on.EeyoresButterfly wrote:The worst for me was when I was sitting for DCT (as a guest) and an adolescent girl turned to me and started talking about Pluto and said that her friend saw Pluto get killed.

That's a great way of putting it Zazu, I remember the next day at track talks being briefed about the incident. If asked, we were supposed to remind people that Pluto is a cartoon character and cannot die.

At least you restrain yourself. I once had to be dragged off by my mates when I started to correct a random family on why Iago and Zazu (no offense) weren't in the Tiki Room, and why it wasn't a bad thing.GuestJockey wrote:I find that I have a hard time visiting the parks as a guest anymore because I'm always overhearing a guest giving their friends and family wrong or exaggerated facts and I want to correct them SO BAD! OMG, I would have given her a piece of my mind. Why would ANYONE want to brag about seeing THAT. She's probably not even a CM and just heard it on the news.EeyoresButterfly wrote:The worst for me was when I was sitting for DCT (as a guest) and an adolescent girl turned to me and started talking about Pluto and said that her friend saw Pluto get killed.
