Toy Story MIDWAY Mania AP Preview Vid

Post by ejud » Sun May 11, 2008 9:42 am

Hi!

Was at the AP Preview yesterday courtesy of a couple of net friends, Kathy and Bud. Was up most the night putting together and uploading a slide show.

We were at the gate at opening, there for the rope drop (they have a rope drop at DHS???) and raced over to the entrance, and had probably 100 people in front of us- until we got through the hiding barrier, then saw the other several hundred... and about an hour later was in a ride vehicle and shooting things.

So, what was your score?

Mine was about 84,000 the first time through.

I scored a 78,800 on Saturday. I was stunned. I also scored a 571,000 on Buzz this past week. My previous all time high was like 150,000.

Maybe it was all the rum... :biggulp:

Place your bets on how long you think those strings will last before they need to be fixed? I say 3 months, tops :)

That was the first thing my husband said when we saw the guns, too. He personally doubted they would all last a week. :D:

Sheesh! What a terrible AP I am turning out to be. I totally forgot all about that happening!

Ah well, it's at DCA. How bad could the wait be??

You think they would have learned that lesson from the cannons on the "Pirate of the Caribbean" game at DisneyQuest.

Most of the cannons had their ropes replaced with stick-like pull handles...

One of my friends said they are already having to replace them. I would think the spring would wear out too.
I got 105,000 on my first run saturday.

That's just pretty sad and funny at the same time. Imagineering at it's finest, lol! I wonder if they'll result to buttons or a trigger instead?

Apparently the strings had to be replaced within the first day or two of test & adjust. They only take 5-10 minutes to replace and I believe can be done by maintenance (or maybe even ops) on the spot.
