DL Trip & Disney Look question

Post by SRT_GB » Wed May 07, 2008 12:44 pm

The family and I spent Monday at DLR since we were in SoCal for an extended weekend. I was very surprised at how FEW SG's we saw. Then again it was a slow Monday.

Probably the one that sticks out in my mind was the group that refused to get off the Monorail in Tomorrowland even though I'm sure it was announced several times that all guests have to get off. The CM stood there and told them at least 3 times that they had to get off. Then they had to unfold their two tank-sized strollers and grandma's wheelchair and took their sweet time getting out of there before the CMs could even let us on.

My 2-year-old son really enjoyed meeting Mickey Mouse in front of Main Street Mad Hatter. I deliberately didn't buy him an autograph book because I know the characters prefer interacting with kids than having wham-bam autograph signings. He hugged Mickey for a good 30-40 seconds (which is a long time when you consider it) before I was able to pry him off and get a picture, but the whole time I could sense the autograph book SG crowd behind us seething because my son was preventing them from getting a sterile, un-personal, easily forged Mickey Mouse autograph. I loved it. Does that make me an SG parent?

I do have a Disney Look question. Our cashier (female) at Village Haus had those piercings, I'm not sure what they're called, where they put a spacer in and it makes a hole like a centimeter wide in the earlobe. Since when were those allowed under Disney Look guidelines?

They aren't. Unless it is for some religious reason. Hmmm

Not allowed by any stretch of the imagination. Spacers of any type are not allowed.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

I didn't think so. When I was around, management was usually lenient on a few areas of the Disney Look, like hair, makeup, sunglasses, etc., but they were always anal about visible piercings and tattoos.

With the help shortage, the Disney look is a little ragged now.

Unless you need to go to access control, There you will find the Disney Look nazi.
