Hey Ya'll. As most of you know it has been my goal to get cross-trained since I started at Living With The Land. In case you couldn't tell I would LOVE to get over to Soarin' but frankly I would take whatever I can get. One of the newer Managers who is now in charge of cross-training has been kicking @$$ at getting people trained at other attractions and has promised to train me this summer. I have to send her an e-mail in a week or two about coming back and I would like your help in reading it. Please give me ANY advice you have. Thanks so much!!!
Dear (manager),
I am writing this to let you know that I will be returning for work with full availability starting May 20th. I will be taking a year off from school and I am intending on going full-time for that period of time. I would like to stay in Future World West and being cross-trained would be a great incentive to stay in the area. I am willing to be cross-trained to assist wherever you have a business need. That being said I am also including my preferences incase they may be helpful in choosing where to train me.
Preferences:
1. Soarin': I am most comfortable with this attraction as it is my favorite and the one I know the most about (Spiels, basic ride system, basic procedures). Also I have worked for the company during the busiest times of the year and will welcome the fast pace and high stress, a stark contrast to The Land, that accompanies this attraction which could be difficult for newer CMs to handle. I have an excellent guest service history and I believe I would be an asset to the Soarin' team. The fact that it shares a building with The Land also offers the opportunity to pull me to either attraction if there is a specific need. I have wanted to be trained on this attraction since I started working and if you are going to train anyone on this attraction I ask you to train me.
2. Imagination: This attraction is relatively similar to The Land and I would enjoy to opportunity to work both Figment and HISTA as I am comfortable with a high spiel.
3. Seas: While I am willing to work all of the attractions the seas is my third preference. I don't mind the clam-mobiles but I think I would be uncomfortable with the unscripted nature of turtle talk.
I can't thank you enough for your commitment to training me on a new attraction and I look forward to helping out in any way I can!
