Wow. Big Controversy.
I don't like the idea of putting Disney characters in Small World or removing the Rainforest. But Disney will do, what Disney does....

Personally, I've always wondered why we didn't include America in the Small World ride. We are, after all, a fairly significant part of this world and to be TOTALLY excluded is odd (especially when the mer people were included).

Hawaii was included. Oh, wait. A minority here want to succeed from the union, set up a monarchy, and install slot machines.

America is not included because we are in America. There is a representation with the cowboy and indian in the finale room. My understanding (granted I haven't been on them) is that the Small Worlds in other countries do have an American section.

I'd say that just the way it is Hawaii has been a rousing success. But coming form a part of the country that was able to secede, in the long run, it's not worth is. Although I do enjoy playing the nickle slots. :D:

NICKLE slots?

Hmmm. Since I don't ride IASW, It dosn't matter to me.

BUT since Disney is part of American and so much a part of our culture, why shouldn't icons of Disney be included?

It would also probably get better attention of the little ones, rather than them just seeing a roomfull of dancing, singing dolls!

Two out of three sound like good ideas!

I used to work the Small World at WDW, and when I trained, I was told that since the ride was debuting here in America, the decision to leave out America in ordre to celebrate other cultures was deliberate. We considered the "host" culture of the ride, so there is a cowboy and Native American at the end of the ride to represent us as the host country.
