spring break madness
How are all my fellow CMs dealing with the spring break/Easter madness so far? Me, I got my first taste of it on Thusrday night when we had a group of people refuse to get out of the store until 15 minutes after closing. Then Friday night we had a steady stream of people for about the last 4 hours the store was open. Now I'm really not looking forward to dealing with this insanity these next two weeks.
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

Re: spring break madness
And for the DLR, it's 9 March to 26 April (the peak is 16-30 March, but Disneyland Park will maintain extended hours until 26 April).
As to how I feel about the madness, I read this in an older thread which I think fits perfectly:
AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
It's crazy. Everyone is starting to show signs of exhaustion, I know I've had to work to keep smiling and not snap at the Guests (and these are the non-SG ones....), and backstage, well.....let's just say we're all being worked ragged, and its beginning to show.
Maybe when I'm not so exausted, I'll post some SG stories, goodness knows I have a tonne of them :D: .
And after this...Grad Nites and Summer....oh joy

I'll save GP the trouble. One way to help through this mess is, when you get home a nice stiff belt (yes GP, this means Rum) can make for an easier release of the tensions if the day.glendalais wrote:And for the DLR, it's 9 March to 26 April (the peak is 16-30 March, but Disneyland Park will maintain extended hours until 26 April).

Of course there is also the way to keep a big smile on your face. Visualize the SG hanging by their toenails into the top of a half full tank full of HUNGRY sharks and a spiggot to the side slowly dribbling more water into the tank. With practice you can even visualize this without even closing your eyes. So you can have a loud SG in your face and they will be totally confused by your big smile that seems to get bigger, the longer they shout.

Officially, I must remind you that I'm underage, and thus, such a tension release would be illegalRandy B wrote:I'll save GP the trouble. One way to help through this mess is, when you get home a nice stiff belt (yes GP, this means Rum) can make for an easier release of the tensions if the day.

Unofficially: On CM wages, even with the basically nonexistant excise tax, even light beer is a distant luxary, lol.
Hey, that works, even when you're not thinking of a Guest! (Long story, let's just say it involves a SCMT :D :)Randy B wrote:Of course there is also the way to keep a big smile on your face. Re: spring break madness
When are the Grad Nites this year? My son and SIL are coming to Disneyland for his elementary school graduation trip on June 9-11. He's SUPER excited and has been doing research since last August so he won't be a SG. But I'm hoping that they won't be running into a grad nite.glendalais wrote: And after this...Grad Nites and Summer....oh joy.

LOL! With your Edna avatar, you should know what was said about elementary school graduation on The Incredibles!!!!!! :p:
But, I'm just teasing! Hope your family (and you) have a Super Time! :)
:flybongo: NO BULL!!!!!:D:
Re: spring break madness
LOL. I had totally forgotten about that. Actually this is something that my wonderful sister-in-law had done for all the neices and newphews. They get to pick a trip to the city of thier choosing (within reason). She took my twin nephews to Washington DC, my daughter to Williamsburg, and my son chose Disneyland. And since they are going that far, they lengthened out the trip just a bit to include San Deigo for the zoo and Sea World. So it's really not so much a celebration of getting out of elementary school, and more a really great chance to spend some quality time with Aunt Sandy.DisneyMom wrote:LOL! Alcohol???? I would think that a nice cup of tea, set back in an easy chair, with some soothing music, and a cold compress over the eyes!! Then follow up by a soak in a tub with scented bubble bath.Randy B wrote:I'll save GP the trouble.
