Re: Cute
Too cute!!!
Reminds me of a kitten a co-worker had!
Our work area has double sized "cubes" , and we each have about eight to ten PC's, plus printers, etc. So to keep the noise down, we use headphones when we need to listen to audio files or MPG's etc. So it is usually quiet, except for fans, and A/C etc.
One day I was setting at my desk, I had several systems running, imaging some hard drives and writing a report, while checking on them from time to time, so my attention was on several things at once. I noticed that I heard a "mewing" a few times, but I though it might have been from someones headphones that had been set down, with the volume up! I heard it several times and finally stood up and looked around.
A co-worker and his wife are members of a pet rescue group, and he had a tiny kitten in a carrier! He had brought it to work, and was bottle feeding it every once in a while, the little guy didn't even have his eyes open yet.
Mom had been found DOA, so the rescue group split up the kittens found for care!
We all have a couple of the dell dual processer PC's that, when operating, pump out a lot of heat! he had set the carrier the kitten was in, on top, and it kept him toasty warm! Since he was sort of orange, we all decided to name him Dongle! (we use a dongle security key for some software, and it is orange/red)

I brought a duck to work one day. He had been slightly injured and was in our pond so I put him in a box to take to the vet before releasing him, but I had to go to work first. My boss had a conniption fit - "What if the Commanding Officer comes by and sees a DUCK at your desk? Oh my gosh, what's he doing to think?" etc, etc. The CO DID come by and ended up playing with the duck for 20 minutes. :)

Oh, how could you have missed this? Phineas and Ferb is awesome -- I like it as much as my kids do.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Okay, I'll bite, Why do they make better secret agents??ktulu wrote:Platypus make better secret agents.

Just these two posts got me humming Perry the Platypus's songs, both the "Dooby dooby doo wah" action music and his theme song! "He's got more than just mad skill, he's got a beaver tail and a bill!"
Serious, check out P&F if you get a chance. It's hilarious, and the music is one of the best things about it. Seriously, I think they've had a new (humorous) song in every episode so far.

Re: Cute
Guys at the top are usually pretty understanding and actually have a good sense of humor. I had my daughter at work one day, she was probably nine years old, and we ran into the CEO in the break room. He asked who this was and shook hands with her. We were headed back to my desk and she said, "Dad, is that the guy with the plane?" I said yes. She was very impressed that I knew someone who owned his own jet.Whazzup wrote:"What if the Commanding Officer comes by and sees a DUCK at your desk?"

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.
