Interesting, the things you'll find...

Post by Big Wallaby » Sun Feb 10, 2008 6:40 pm

Since I got home, I've been trolling Google News to see if there are any articles about something that happened on Safari today (I won't discuss it here), and I found this:

http://ldnews.com/news/ci_8219297

That seems pretty neat. I hope people will use it.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Perhaps a tiny hint? Big enough to hit the news?

Yeah, that is a cool idea. I gotta ask though, where is the Dad's panel?

I applied but they didnt like me enuf to make it past the first round. There were 10,000 that entered in about 5 days. They were supposed to have only 5,000 but upped it. You had to answer 3 questions seperately in essay form just for the 1st round. I still dont believe they read each and everyone of those essays, that is 30,000 paragraphs. Well at least I got one of the "good" rejection letters in that I was being considered for future stuff. Judging by what was posted on other boards there were 2 different ones sent out. The lesser one just said thanks for entering. OH, and I got a consolation prize.....wait for it......wait for it...........

A link to a website to print out stationary with the Dream logo and my name. WHEEEEEEE! (yes that is sarcasm.. I already had the link to it from like months prior)

I have visited it twice to see what it was like. Not that I am bitter but it didnt impress me much. A bit hard to navigate (Disney's official site-what do you expect there) and info I already know or can find elsewhere faster.

The trips would have been nice but oh well, life goes on and then you die.

There is one man on the panel. He is their token male and there is a token non-caucasion on it too. Kinda sad. I think they should have chosen more folk considering how many entered. He did get a blue windbreaker jacket when they did the parks whereas the women all got pink satin ones.

Oh, I so would have applied for this.

Rats! Or should I say Mouse. I can't believe I missed it!

I saw the panel thing online recently and read through some of the questions but they seem to cover pretty basic stuff. I think it'll help a lot of first time planners but us vets pretty much know the drill. . .

Oh and there is one Dad on the panel, Wallaby!

Really, it's like dangling a juicy meaty bone just out of reach of a hungry dog. Mustn't tease us BW. :D:

I would assume he's referring to this:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/loc ... 8106.story

Doesn't sound like anything major. Just the news media making a bigger deal out of it than it probably was.
