A board, which shall remain nameless, has a MAJOR SG on it. Listen to what they said...
Ill say it again it still reflects poorly on the CM's as a whole and it reflects poorly on the park. I don't care where you are saying it here or there. How you all talk in here you would think you CM's would take some pride in your job and not dirty it by talkin crap on a message board about the guets that pay you. cause without the "stupid" guests your nothing but a troll in a stuffed suite. might as well be dressed as a hot dog outside a ball game
I responded with this...
Until you are a CM you have no room to talk... I, as a matter of fact, have a great amount of pride in my job and I am offended that you would accuse me, or anyone else here, of not. If you are holier than thou I am assuming you've never made one negative remark about someone. You don't know what we do and until you do you can't make assumptions about us. You do what we do, and come back the next day to do it again and you will understand why we have to laugh about SOME guests. When you've worked as hard as we do, for as little as we do, just to put up with what we do then you can talk.
Thoughts?

All I would say is be careful. You will never teach that person a lesson. They don't want to learn. All they will do is hate Cast Members even more.
I would love to go and explain the fact that, because of my time at SGT, I am actually a better Cast Member, spending time with people here who care about and want to improve the overall guest experience... even for the ones we call SG's. Can you imagine the flame war that would start?
Not even going to go look. Okay, I might peek, but I'm not going to say anything. I think CMGUY said everything that needs to be said.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Sounds like some weenie who either made it into management and can't sympathize with the people on the front lines, or even more likely, someone who has little work experience themselves.
CMs work in the BUSIEST places on Earth with people who feel empowered to be their worst because they paid to be there- and believe me, if the SGs see the tiniest thing to make them unhappy, it will be somewhere on a board!
LONG LIVE SGT!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:

Thats one of the reasons I came to SGT. I think that attitude is a result of someone having never been put in a situation like the CM's are.
The desire to to the job, but the inexplicable SG who wants everything done to his/her standards or by gosh they want everything free!! I have ran across this type of "entitlement" attitude in my work, and there is nothing that can be done to change their viewpoint.
The only thing I could tell the CM's here, and on any board is, be secure in your own knowledge that you do the best you can to create the magic, and to heck with the naysayers!

Whenever I'm tempted to engage on another board with such nonsense, I remember Zazu's Mark Twain quote in his siggy.
". . .and the pig will enjoy it."
I stopped posting and finally even reading other Disney boards because unfortunately, the mean people just suck the life out of you. They do out of me, anyway. And these SG's online are just as mean in real life to their fellow human beings (and park guests) as they are to CM's and probably every other person, be it a server, a salesperson, or anyone else that they come into contact with. I've worked enough service/customer service related jobs to know! Sometimes I'll read a post and really feel sorry for whoever that poster is married to!
Unhappy, angry people are angry all the time. Sane people have to put their pent up stress somewhere so that they can then get on with it.
That's what we're doing here, we're getting on with it. And as someone who strives desperately not to be a SG- if knowing that they've been heard and understood helps ONE CM make it through ONE rough day at work, then I consider listening the least that I can do as payback for all they've done for me.
And it's fun too :)
I know that being a stores CM barely qualifies me as a past CM (but hey, we were company owned/trained/operated back then) but until you've had the expectations on your shoulders and the ears on your head- and I mean that literally- you can't know what it's like.
Have some mother ask YOU to tell her kid why they can't fly with the pixie dust in a bottle they just bought in the gift shop. Now that's job stress.
I thought of a good answer though LOL
Pay 'em no mind, CM guy. You've said all they're going to likely read anyway-and they won't listen anyway no matter what you say if they just don't want to hear.

Courage in your own.

The SG makes it sound like this forum is unique. like Disney CM's are the only people that go online and share stories about thier jobs and the people they deal with. Just about every industry, and especially those that deal with the public have one or more forums where like people gather and talk about the job and the dummies they deal with day to day. Its called blowing off steam. All the CM's who come here do it because they can communicate with people who understand what they do on the job, share war stories and blow off steam here instead of in some SG's face not matter how much they deserve it. Those of us who come here who are not CM's do it becuase we want to be better guests and maybe learn a few insider things that only someone who has worked at the parks would know. I got my start in message boards on a towing site and all the twoers, from drivers to owners did the same thing everyone does here, talk about the dummies we in-counter day by day, share info on the industry, talk about whats new and some got info on new job opportunities. We also made a lot of new friends from all over the world.
Its like misery loves company, its easier to do a job that can be hard at times when you know your not going through it alone.

That plus the fact that a full description of this board's contents are front and center on the main page, ending with "if you feel that you may be offended easily, this may not be the site for you."

So apparently this easily-offended cretin must be
trying to be offended, otherwise he wouldn't have clicked into the site any further. What an idiot.
