DL Mean & Vicious guests this trip

We just got home a couple days ago and I have been in bed, VERY sick again. I catch that nasty California Crud EVERY time I go there. This version is VERY BAD! I really think it is Strep Throat this time. I have had a very bad sore throat, aches all over my body, a nasty headace, a stiff neck, VERY swollen glands and I get very hot, then very cold; even my eyeballs hurt! :( I guess it is off to the doc for antibiotics again! I got them after our Christmas trip and they killed the bug FAST! It was a new antibiotic. I only got 3 pills and they were VERY potent and took care of the cough immediately. I had Bacterial Bronchitis by the time we got home from Calif in December.

I need to get out more to get exposed to these germs, so I won't get it so bad. I have not lost my voice this time, YET. Poor Ralph. That would be a blessing for him! ;) He is so patient listening to me whining and moaning and hacking and snorking!

This trip was VERY full and busy. We met so many people and my apologies to those we did not. We will catch you in March. We are coming back. Yes! I am going to brave the germs again! I think I will wear a surgical mask with sequins on it, on the plane trip and throughout the parks, so I won't catch anyone's nasty cooties. SOMEONE gave them to me. I wish these sick peple would stay home when they are sick. I have a very weak respiratory system and still have my tonsils (which are germ collectors) at 54 yrs old. I was always catching strep throat in my youth and had so many respiratory infections, that that is where the germs go first! That is my weak spot. I HATE being sick!

For many years when I was working more than full time, I rarely got sick, because I was exposed to most everything and I exercised and took care of myself and was in shape. But now with my back in so much pain, I can't do much and sit at home talking to y'all here at SGT and don't get out and get exposed to the current crop of germies. Not that there is anything WRONG with that...Talking to y'all here at SGT! :p:

Yes, my back is acting up again. I actually did very well for 3 days, from Monday 1/28 when we were packing for the trip til Thursday morning. I walked the whole 3 days! YES! BUT, I paid for it, and paid dearly! I think I overdid it. By Thursday, Ralph went to rent me an ECV and I did not even get out of the room. I could not even sit, my spine was so compressed and in excruciating pain. I laid down and Ralph went off with Purpie and her hubby for several hours to the Park. I slept for the afternoon after taking my pain meds. All that walking for 3 days, plus the 5 hours we did the weekend before when Ralph took us shopping for outfits for Club 33. YES! Pics are coming. I still have not uploaded any pics from this trip yet. I have been in bed! Sorry. I sick! I hurt! I not happy right now. Please come and hug me...so I can give it to all of you. Sharing is good, right????? Mwahahahahahaha :twisted:

We had a great trip thought and it was so much fun! We were supposed to fly up to Oakland on Saturday night and did not. We stasyed at the DL Resort and booked another 2 days there. We decided it was not in the best interest of our 86 yr old parents and Aunt who is VERY frail to expose thenm to this bug. My dad has had double pnemonia and that is all he needs to get, is another awful respiratory infection that willspread and all our parents do NOT need to be sick with this. So we stayed at DL til MOnday night and flew home. Got into DIA at about midnight and stayed at a hotel out by the airport. It was snowing like crazy when we flew in and there was about 4-5 inches of snow on the ground at that time. Very cold too. I had left OC in shorts and a tee shirt with a jacket and changed into jeans and a warm coat, gloves, hat and all when we landed. It was about 16 degrees when we got into DIA! :( I want to be in Florida! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! :(

So we come to Californioa in March for Ralph's father's book signing party and we will go to the parent's houses FIRST! That way if there are any germies in DL, we will NOT bring them up to the folks. Then we will end the trip by going south and spendin 4-5 days at DL. I want to get out to the ocean this next trip as well. I have not seen the sea for a long, lommng time and I am heartsick for it. I MISS the ocean so much. I was born near the ocean and intend to die near the ocean.
Anyway, pics and SG stories to come. It is NOT good to be back, I woulod rather be in DL or really, more in WDW, where it is warm and I would feel good!

I hate flying on airplanes - putting your hands on all those dirty armrests, lavatory doors and controls, breathing dirty canned air, etc. I think that's where we pick up germs when we go traveling. Stop and wash your hands as soon as you get off the plane, 'k?
When you go to visit your relatives, don't forget to wash your hands thoroughly before you even hug them!

I would hate being sick while on vacation. We went to MouseFest at WDW one year and Steve got a sinus infection. He felt miserable but I still drug him all over AK for a trivia hunt. Poor guy - he's such a good sport.

Okay - get lots of rest, SEE THE DOCTOR and get some antibiotics going, and fill us in on all the fun stuff and SG stories as soon as you can.

Aww man, I was hoping that you wouldn't get sick this time :( I can't wait to hear about club 33 and all that you go to do in those three days you walked in the parks! They really are different from a standing perspective, aren't they? It's the thing I miss most about having to use a chair in them. Every now and then I will have to just stand up (and am lucky that I can) for ten or fifteen minutes and just hold still someplace pretty to take it all in.

Looking forward to the stories!

And yes, i changed my name while you were gone LOL. This one is for keeps :)

You know, I carry Wet Ones everywhere I go and am constantly washing my hands. I thinkit comes from the recycled air on the planes. I am so sick of getting sick on our trips to California. I need to stop doing this, I have been sick 4 times out of the last 5 trips to DL! Ralph had not completely gotten over his cough from December and it came back with a vengeance this trip, but he never got the full on illness, just the bad cough. When we got hme he took his Chinese medicine for coughs and he is doing much better. I am not getting over this this time. You know how it gets worse at night? L:ast night I was just aching so bad and my throat was screaming and I was hacking and hacking, it was hard to sleep. I finally was able to drift offa and woke up still sick today. It is the same, no better, but at least no worse.

We did have a great time, I have to say. The soire throat kicked in about Thursday evening, but I did not feel too bad there. It really hit me when we got back here.

I will have lots of wonderful pics to share and many stories of fun and magic. And of course there was that special lunch at you know where.... ;) It was wonderful and we may get to do it again next year for my birthday again. YAY! My friend was so much fun there and we had a fabulous time!

I even got to go to Company D, the CM store where everything is 50% to 75% off!!!!! WOW!!!!! I have some very good CM friends there. These are all folks that I knew before I even met all of the wonderful CMs here at SGT! I have been a FOCM (Friend of Cast Members) for a very long time!!!! :) I guess maybe I should become a CM now myself. It's time. Either a Tech at DAK or a Plaid at DL! Those are my dream jobs. Speaking of dreams...We met many dream squad members AFTER they had given out dreams, but that was okay, because we made soem new friends we look forward to seeing next trip. We had many memorable moments this trip, and I have to sya meeting the CMs and lunch at Club 33 was among the top.
But, top honors for the best moment of the vacation goes to the Flag Retreat that Ralph was able to participate in. They call all the services up to stand around the flag while they lower it and Ralph being ex Air Force went up. This was the first time he had stood at attention or at ease since his days in the Academy. It was a very sentimental and emotional moment for him. Tears were streaming down his face as he saluted the flag. I was very touched and moved. I have pics to share of it. It was by far the most memorable moment of our trip.

Chinese medicine it is! He gets his *potions* from a Chinese pharmacist from Chinatown in the San Francisco Bay Area. He used to make up those packets of stinky tea that Ralph would drink and smell up the whole house with. Now Ralph can get some of the remedies in pill or capsule form. Hey, 5000 years of Chinese medicine can't be wrong! It beats loading your body up with western meds! Ralph does great with his Chinese meds. Not so well with the Western variety... :p:
