This is the worse week of my life.
First, my mother passed away Sunday.
Second, I had to take my good computer into the shop to get worked on.
Now I have to get a new tire for my van.
Earlier tonight I was heading out to the university to meet a friend. As I came onto campus I had to slam on the brakes to avoid an idiot pedestrian that crossed the street against the signal. The road was wet and I slid into the curb, hitting it hard enough to blow out my tire. That was bad enough. I put the spare tire on and head the rest of the way onto campus. When I come back out to my van a while later I get in and when I start moving I notice the right front tire (the one I blew) was feeling even weirder than it should with an idiot tire on it. I park again and I see that the spare is sitting on the rim. I tried airing it up but it won't so now my van is stuck on campus.
The friend is going to take the tire I blew by the shop in the morning to get it replaced and bring it back to me but because he has business he HAS to do in the morning he probably won't be able to get the tire back to me before 11:30 at the earliest. I'm scheduled to be at work at noon but I was able to write myself in for 10:00 (did that last week). I knew I probably wouldn't make it in at 10:00 but now I'll be late for my scheduled time. Even if he gets the tire to me before 11:30 I'll still be late to work as I live about 30 minutes away.
Tomorrow was going to be my first day back after my mom passed away too.
The old saying "when it rains it pours" is very true for me this week, especially since it is pouring outside! My shoes are sopping wet and my jeans weighed twice as much as they should from all the water in them. Rent hits tomorrow, my bills hit just the other day, in a few days I'll have to pay for the work on my computer, and now I have to get a new tire. This is turning out to be one expensive week, especially since I missed so much work already this week so my next paycheck is going to be a lot smaller than normal.

(((((((((((Shorty)))))))))))))))
I've had weeks that bad. I'm so sorry you're having one now. Things do tend to hit in bunches and when they pile up at a time of such a monumental loss as you've just suffered, it all gets to be overwhelming.
Take courage, and try to be sure you're eating and taking some vitamins. Getting all wet like that on top of everything else. . .take some extra vitamin C okay???
Thinking of you. . .I hope things calm down soon.

I take a Centrum vitamin very day and I'll go drink some OJ in a minute (I don't have any pure vitamins). Doesn't help I think I'm coming down with a cold anyway, hopefully the medicine I got yesterday will help even after getting soaking wet.

Re: This is the worse week of my life.
If all goes well with things this horrible week will be worth it.
I've always wanted to work for the Mouse. I originally wanted to go to University of Central Florida but because I procrastinated I wound up having to go to the local university instead, University of West Florida. But that hasn't worked out so well. A few years back there was a three month period where there were a lot of medical problems with my mom and granddad and my grades really suffered. Also, most of the classes for the major I'm in (not exactly what I wanted but the closest they offer) are online and I don't do well with those. Because of problems with school I took a semester off but procrastinated enrolling for the Spring so wound up with a year off. I've been wanting to move down that way for a long time now but with my mom in a nursing home here I couldn't leave the area, she needed direct family here. With her at peace I now have nothing to prevent me from moving once I get the money and all together.
My brother and his wife wanted to talk to me the other day privately. Seems over the holiday weekend my brother picked up a shift at a park (he teaches school but is still a seasonal CM) and was eating in the cafeteria when my uncle happened to come in to get some lunch. A very unlikely circumstance as my brother just happened to draw a shift at that park (he can work in any of the parks) and my uncle happened to be in that area and needed to get some lunch (he's an electrical engineer and his office is somewhere a good ways away from there). They talked about me and getting me down there.
My brother talked about how God doesn't make mistakes. He brings people into our lives and takes them out for a reason. He said I should use this opportunity to work on getting moved down to the WDW area. Hopefully in a month or so (depending on work and all) I will be able to get down there for a few days and among some playing in the parks go by Casting and talk to them. Since school isn't going well here I'm thinking of withdrawing from UWF, moving down there, getting a full time job at WDW, and starting school sometime at UCF, which has real classes for a major that will be a better fit to me.
If all this works out this horrible week will be worth it as I will be able to make a much better life for myself. My brother and his wife are very supportive and though I haven't talked to my grandmother about this yet but my brother has some and I understand she is also supportive.

Re: This is the worse week of my life.
As much as I complain about parts of my life sucking I really have nothing to complain about. I am so sorry you're week has been so bad. It may be time to use some Ice Cream Therapy. That cheers me up when I'm down. That and a good laugh. Let me see what I can dig up...

Here's to hoping things can only go up!!!
Edit: If you are planning on going full-time look into Disney's educational reimbursement if the classes "apply to your role". I might get my masters that way!

Too bad I have no ice cream. I might have to pick some up tomorrow. Those pictures are cute and made me giggle, thanks.CMGUY89 wrote:As much as I complain about parts of my life sucking I really have nothing to complain about. Up is about the only way things can go, knock on wood.
Yeah, my brother mentioned that. He was saying that if the classes apply to your role or a role you can move into Disney might help pay for them. That would be wonderful since my financial aid situation is pretty bad. My most distant goal is to eventually go into an IT position of some kind with WDW.CMGUY89 wrote:Edit: If you are planning on going full-time look into Disney's educational reimbursement if the classes "apply to your role". My closer to home goal is to move down there and get a full time job. I will start at UCF sometime after that and finish my schooling.
Later on sometime I'll make a post to find out from you all some information from actual CMs on some of the roles I think I might like and to take suggestions on other roles I might not have thought of. Even though this is my thread I don't want to intentionally throw it way off course.

Re: This is the worse week of my life.
Shorty I hope this goes through the board keeps making me log in again! It keeps saying I'm signed on then making me sign in repeatedly.
I truly hope that all will work out for you quickly and that you will soon be working at WDW and working on your studies as well.
It was always a dream of mine to actually make it down to the parks, and it didn't happen for me because now I'm not healthy enough. But I still have a life I love, and I have my Store CM memories (back at the beginning when they were Company owned) and I cherish those. I'm so glad I got that job.
You live that dream, make it happen for yourself and also a little tiniest bit for those of us who can't do it, okay? MAKE it happen.
I hope that your family will continue to be supportive to you and assist you all they can to help you get on your feet down there.
I am not trying to be trite or condescending, please know that I speak from absolute personal experience when I tell you that I know what it's like to be in total darkness, and then see a new day on the horizon. (I'll pm you if you want to hear a story- might be tomorrow before I get to tell it but I will tell you.)
It's time to bring you that horizon.
You did your best for your mom, you stayed near. That is something so honorable it brings me to tears.
Now it's time for you to take care of yourself.
She must be so proud of you.
I hope this actually goes through to post. I'm off for the night.
Hang in there. . .thinkin of you.
oh, and CM guy- those Muppet pictures are all wrong LOL. Beaker! I'm so shocked!!!

Re: This is the worse week of my life.
Thanks. My brother is going to give me a cast referral or whatever it's called when a CM refers someone to Casting. I'll later on be asking all about the casting process so I'll know what to expect.CMGUY89 wrote:I'd be Glad to help with the casting process. Let me know...
February, try clearing your cookies and logging in again. There might be some issues with them since who have two accounts you've logged into recently. Also, make sure the "remember me" box is checked when you log in.
I'd like to hear that story, PM me whenever you get the chance.
