New girl

Post by Planner » Thu Jan 03, 2008 11:54 am

So it seems I have gone from lurk mode to making myself known so might as well do a short into

I stumbled upon this site a while back, don't recall how or why but it must have been work related (yes sure work related that's it!) and have spent more than a few breaks laughing at the zany denizens of SGT. By profession I am an urban planner in the DC area but one of my big planning passions is Disney and the unbelievable knack for detail and place making. Though I cant stand Celebration its just TOO fake for me sorry. Anyway I have found the CMs to be a major part of what makes the feeling of place and details come alive. I have enjoyed chatting with a number of wonderful folks over my trips down to the World and am thrilled I found the spot so many hang out and express their frustrations and the morons of the world.

Anyway howdy thanks for letting us lowly non CMs join in the fun and please if I do SG stuff please thump me on the head :p:

Just by being here, you show that you are aware of SG's, and if you are aware, you will not become one!!

Welcome!!

If only ten percent would rub off on Maui. Are you looking for a frustrating job in paradise?

Ha who says planning in the DC area is not frustrating as all hell? Good Va has the worst laws related to land use planning I have ever seen. Anyway thanks but no thanks on Maui I lived in the Rep of Panama THAT was a tropical paradise.

I used to want to be a planner for Disney but I make better money working for the Government and don't have to live in Ca or Fla.

Thank you Grumpy Pirate for the welcome. I can only hope I mend my SG ways over time as I know I have done some dumb things when caught up in the Magic

Oh PS if you guys ever get a curly red haired woman pestering you in the parks about where they hide the cell phone towers that would be me. And yes I know about the horrible fake tree near AK

Welcome from the wild ECV riding crazy and her equally crazy nightshirt snowshoveling hubby, known as Raffle round these parts! Good to have you out of lurkdom. More stories are always fun! Yes, I do imagine that the Marsupial welcoming committee will be along shortly!
Have fun here and post some good SG stories from the Guvmint! There just has to be some there. ;)

Hey..join the crowd!!!

I think thats what attracts most of us to the Disneyland and WDW parks. You don't have to be grown up all the time. you can just have fun there!
