Mysterious Schedule Gap...

Post by CMGUY89 » Sun Dec 23, 2007 11:57 am

Hmm my new schedule posted and I have three days off in a row (including new year's day, which I said I'd work a double), one day of work, and another day off. Now I am not trying to get my hopes up but that seems mysteriously like a period of training. Three days of training and then a day of assessment. There are PLENTY of EHH shifts available yet I am still off. What do you think this means??? Does it take them longer to post training schedules???

I don't know, but if you're being cross trained, it should show up on your schedule (or at least the physical one). I don't know if it's the same at WDW, but here at the DLR, it normally looks something like this (I might be wrong, though, and this may only apply to Foods)
Saturday
01/05/08

800-1600
TLT CS XT
TRAINEE
The above would be for a Foods Cast Member being cross trained to Cashier at Tomorrowland Terrace from 800 to 1600 next Saturday.

WDW Cast Scheduling might just be scheduling CRs and FTs over you. For example, I'm Fully Available that week, and so are a lot of CRs at my location since most Universities are still on break, so scheduling is filling the open shifts with CRs rather than CTs, from what I understand.

Crap...talking to Labor and they said it was just because I am a CT. I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up but still, it hurts...

Any shifts on the Hub you can pick up?

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Obviously not connected, but last year my area had mandatory 6th for just about everyone and tons of daily OT for hell week. Lots of 60+ hour weeks then, and no scheduled 6th day even and hardly OT this year. I guess it's not always a staffing crush.
