SG Packin' Heat

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Holy crap! I never knew those checks actually accomplished anything. And it was semi-automatic!Disney security spotted the semi automatic weapon on Mary Ann Richardson, 63, Sunday during a mandatory bag check at the Magic Kingdom.

hey, my own grandmother carried concealed in her purse for -years-. This lady may very well have forgotten it was in there. As long as she had a permit for it, I think no charges should be pressed. (of course, if she had no permit she should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law) That said, I am quite glad they found it before she entered the park.
They should have just turned her right back around to her car and told her to take it home before they'd let her into the park.

"How much are the mugs? Well the 13 large signs at eye level all say the mugs are $12.99.. so I'm gonna go with that."

What would happen if it flew out of her purse while on a more "exciting" attraction? I can just see a gun flying through the air on space mountain, or some other fast attraction!! Not a really Good idea!!!

The problem is she brought it onto Disney property, like the article says they cracked down on that since 9/11.Tara_Lee3 wrote:hey, my own grandmother carried concealed in her purse for -years-. I just can't imagine wanting to have a weapon at WDW, they are a pain, as you are responsible for anything that happens TO them, or WITH them..DUH..

Did you see the other story?
Some Pop Warner kids softball teams got into a fight in an arcade. Disney booted the Hawaii team including mothers who were chaperoning. There were babies and kids under the age of 3 who were forced to leave their bed in the middle of the night. Can you imagine having to pack your bags and leave a hotel in the middle of the night and having infants and taoddlers.

Oh, those mini cheerleaders. We had some serious problems with them on the buses at DTD. No guns, but some fighting... and it wasn't the kids.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: SG Packin' Heat
The article says that she is being charged with carrying a concealed weapon. If she had a concealed weapons permit I doubt she would be charged with that but would be charged with something else.
In Florida it is only legal to carry a concealed weapon with a permit and there is a list of places where you can't carry, courthouses, schools, a few other places, and WDW it seems.

Re: SG Packin' Heat
Way back when DLR first implemented bag checks, we were allowed to call Security for off-duty police with concealed weapons and they would escort the person backstage to the security office and store it in their safe. Not sure if they still do that, or if they did it for any Joe Blow with a concealed weapon permit.
I did once have a guy ask me, "Hey can you call Security for me, I gotta get my gun."
