That's right. Someone in South Africa has a pet hippo. They named her Jessica. She's actually kinda cute.

I got this story in two different emails from two different people! But I LOVE this story and thanks for putting it here! A very good pal who sent it to me suggested that after we lost Orion, maybe we should get a Jessica and teach her how to ski (being up here in Denver and all :D: ). I thought that was cute and he made me laugh after all the sadness. I love Jessica! I would have her in my house in a second!!!!!! :hippo: I love this story! It makes me smile everytime I read it. I will be on this thread a LOT!!!!!!

Although, from what I've seen it would be a very slow process.

I get the feeling the people who call her family live on a fairly good parcel of land, so the neighbors are moot, unless you count the herd of hippos down the river.

Wouldn't that mean that the "neighbors" (the Hippos) are more likley to complain about the hippo's pet human than the other way around? :D:

Nah, hippos don't complain very much. And hopefully, when the humans are awake and the hippos asleep, the water dampens the hippos' hearing.
