Advent Calendar

Post by Rosie » Sun Nov 18, 2007 6:26 pm

I am coming out of lurkdom to ask for some help with my holiday shopping. I am trying to find a chocolate advent calendar for my grandson. Has anyone seen them at Downtown Disney, maybe in one of the candy stores? I can't find them this year. The German pavilion in EPCOT used to sell the gummy bear calendars but I can't find even those.

While not Disney, we found one at La Madeline, if you have one of those near you.

I was not looking for one, but I think I saw some in Mouse Gear today. If you are coming in from the Fountain and heading toward the main registers, if you turn right at the main cross-corridor they will be almost immediately on your left.

I don't know what they are made of, but they appeared to be Advent calendars.

You can call merchandising at WDW and they should be able to help you. The boards have the number if you need. You can even have it shipped.

Ummm, you mean that you can only have one little piece of chocolate everyday until Christmas? And you have to not touch all those pieces that are just there, on the wall, in your reach, and you can probably even smell them thru the wrapper? :( :p:
Yeah, that'll happen.......

Thanks for responding guys and gals. We have a tradition of going to Downtown Disney on Thanksgiving evening to walk off that horrid turkey and then going to EPCOT for the tree lighting on Friday so I will check Mouse Gear then. My grandson loved the 1 chocolate a night treat last year, counting down to Christmas, I know he will love it again this year.

When I was a kid each night we opened a window with a scene. Some advent calendars have a cheap toy or candy in them. They are from right after the turn of the century and sold in america since the 1946.
Originally without windows in 1908 and stopped in the 1930's due to the war.
It was about 1910 they started adding doors.
