Don't know exactly how to categorize this -- a stupid non-guest trick? tales of the weird? kind-of cute funny story? -- but this cracked me up. The office manager of my chorus, the Vocal Majority, recently shared with the group some of the interesting phone calls she fields from around the world, many about the effects of the VM's music on people's lives. It's pretty cool to hear how the group's CD's have inspired people or helped them through illness, grief, loneliness... but I have to say my favorite was this one:
An Idaho farmer called up one day, having worn out his last CD from playing it so much, desperate to have several Vocal Majority CD's overnighted to him "so his roses won't die." Seems he has over 40,000 rose bushes, and has the entire 300 acres wired for sound. He plays the VM 24/7, saying that no other music makes his roses grow as big or as beautiful!

:)
And here you thought I was just another pretty face. :D:
