Very interesting. The question I have is, where are they going to put it?
The only logical place I can think of would be to bulldoze some part of DCA and build there. Or build where the existing valet parking lot is behind Souvie 66/Golden Dreams and move that lot underneath the new building.

It will go in an area between the hotel and the Mad Mouse ride. This will include a parking lot on the south side of the hotel and a green area to the east of the parking lot. Google in close at the back of the hotel on the southside to see the lot. It is only 2.5 acres and can be seen on the above site. If need be they could rip out DCA for the ultimate hotel grounds. Few people know about this area since it is so out of the way. Coming into the hotel you will see that parking lot on the right.
This shows the west entrance and southwest corner.

There is talk of two new hotels going in next to Paradise Hotel, revamping Paradise Hotel and a new parking garage. Rumours are that Star Wars may be coming also but when are they updating the old one.

Okay, that's the area I was referring to when I mentioned the "valet lot." That's the area they use for outdoor weddings and receptions, and from the looks of things that area is out of commission for a while, if not permanently. So I guess they're going to tell people to have their so-called "Fairy Tale Wedding" over at DLH, or in the indoor area at GCH.mechurchlady wrote:It will go in an area between the hotel and the Mad Mouse ride. By any chance, by "Mad Mouse ride" are you referring to Mulholland Madness? When I read the original article I was hoping they would be tearing that thing down to expand the hotel. Or at least they should rip out Souvie 66, Dino Jack, and Golden Dreams. Four pieces of crap that park can do without.
There's plenty of area to build a new hotel there in the Simba/DTD South lots; they just need to make sure they don't make parking for the hotel CMs worse. When I worked at the hotel I got the feeling that hotel CMs hate the idea of having to shuttle in to work like the rest of DLR CMs do.mechurchlady wrote:There is talk of two new hotels going in next to Paradise Hotel, revamping Paradise Hotel and a new parking garage.
Ideally, I think they should build a new hotel and then tear down the PPH and its parking garage. The PPH was not built by Disney or Disney influences, which makes for crappy amenities for CMs and guests. I hated working in that hotel because I had to go to DLH or GCH for a hot meal on my lunch breaks, or eat vending machine food. Not only that, I had to walk to BFE to use a CM restroom!

He's thrilled as he is an electrician with the company Disney gave the bid to. $52.80 an hr. + MGP & job security. Not bad mouse pay!
