WDW Magic boards all abuzz

I prowl a couple of fan boards and here is the latest from WDW Magic on a CM at WDW getting arrested for trying to meet a 14YO girl for sex. The thing that pisses me off the most, and its not the board but the news site, they talk about the CM and at the end of the story they say other men were arrested also, but they dont mention anyone elses name or where they work. I get mad that Disney seems to have a big target on them and anyone who works for them. Its like they are saying if you work for Disney theres something wrong with you, and you see this all the time. If the guy didnt work for Disney there wouldnt have been so much press on it, I'm sure they do these busts all the time and this is the first time I've heard or seen anything about it.

I get upset at that also. Like the Downtown Disney robbery a while back was so blown out of proportion. There's more crime in almost any city or town than there is on all of Disney property and yet the media loves to cite Disney. People get shot and assaulted all the time but if Tigger looks at you funny he's going to court. Unfortunately it will never change.

Damn near 'all' the news has their favorites. DATELINE " A cute mother/collage student was abducted/missing,"
"A rich guy goes missing in his plane,MASSIVE SEARCH underway"
"The late presidents sons plane crashes into the sea,the whole NAVY conducts search"

John Q Public hasn't been seen for 3yrs,it would suck to be him. :(

I am completely convinced no one realizes that real people work as disney. While most of us are not doing anything illegal we all go home and do things that would not be considered disney appropriate and I think most people forget that.

Sad how everyone focusses on a famous athlete or Disney person. Why is it so important? It is important to media as they need to show Disney is not pure and safe and family friendly.

Sex sells. Sex at Disney sells millions.

Unfortunately, the media would love to make you feel unsafe at Disney World for the exact reason that you're much safer at a Disney location than anywhere else... and if you're afraid to go to Disney World, then you might as well be afraid to go anywhere else, you might as well stay home and watch the ads they are paid so much to play.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

One other point. Not only sex sells. Fear sells. When did you last see an entire news cast that didn't try several times to tell you that everything you see, hear, touch, smell, etc is dangerous for you. And anywhere you go must be dangerous. It doesn't make any difference if they were touting the opposite yesterday.

Tonight at 6, Drinking water is hazzardous to your health.
...Sun is bad.
...(current popular toy) found to be potentially deadly.

(next day)
Tonight at 6, Not drinking enough water will cause severe health issues or even death.
...chronic health problems caused by not getting enough sun.
...Children deprived of the current popular toy develop severe social skill deprivation.

Except for the end-of-the-news filler piece, it is rare that news and journalistic type media will run more than a 15 second "feel good" piece. All the rest of the time it's fear, fear, danger, danger, panic, panic. Of course the normal response to being told that there is danger and "WE are the only ones who can give you the info to be safe" message, is to wathc that news cast to get the "life saving" information. (and again watch all the ads)

And some subjects are easy. If a CM in costume is told to ignore and not react to the little brats who kick shins, knee genitals and try to unmask them, the news will cause fear that these poor CMs are being abused with no recourse to protection. But when one of these CMs react in an automatic manner to physical assault the news will point to this as evidence that all CMs are running amuck with no provocation. Either way it's a cause for fear.

There was a video out there of the CM being arrested and escorted out by the police. The buzz around the boards is that he asked the "14 year old girl" if she was with the TV show, "To Catch A Predator".

Attractions:
Rocket Scientist at "HISTA"/ Astro Orbitor,
Space Ranger at Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
