Just because you have DVC doesn't mean you are above the rules!

What is it that makes DVC members think that they own the place and are above the rules? All they did was prepay their resort stays upto the length of their contracts. They don't own ANYTHING!

Tonight (this is the 6th or 7th time that this has happened) I had a group of SG's going to Old Key West ( A Disney Vacation Club destination for those who don't know) Junior is asleep in the stroller and it's around 11pm. They come up to the bus in LZ9 (OKW) and first ask if I'm going to OKW. Now 1 for the group would have been enough but apparently my answer of yes wasn't good enough for them as everyone of them asked the same question. I remain pleasent and answer each one yes, I'm going to OKW. Now the last two, mom and dad try to board with Jr. and the stroller, yes, you guessed it, Jr. in the stroller and unfolded. I politely tell them that the stroller needs to be folded, Nope, dad says thet he owns DVC and jr and the unfolded stroller are going. I get up out of my seat (it's closing time, greet and go, stay in the seat time) and tell him it must be folded. He continues to insist that he is coming on like that and still playing the I own part of this place card.

At this point, I give him 3 choices, stay behind, remove Jr and fold the stroller or Jr can stay but the stroller needs to be strapped in to a wheelchair position and I'm not responsible for ANY damage to the stroller.

After about 5 minutes, he gives in (I'm sure the disgruntled guests had something to do with this) Takes Jr out and leaves his wife to unload and fold the stroller. Yes they were using it as the 4 wheel souvineer carrier.

As he boards, he states loudly, "you should try being nice sometime, it doesn't cost much"

Well, I had enough of him. I turn to him and tell him in a normal tone that, Federal regulations state the stroller must be folded or if unfolded, secured as to prevent movement. It's a several thousand dollar fine that I have to pay if I get caught being nice to you. So it does cost a lot to be nice. DOT doesn't care about your DVC, it cares about passenger safety!

This SG did finally shut up but continued to grumble under his breath the whole ride. Thank god they got off at the first stop.

I always start with it being a DOT rule. I usually say something to the effect that if it was my rule, I'd overlook it this once, but it's a federal regulation. Always very apologetic, and usually it works. When it doesn't work, if the person keeps complaining, people around the SG start telling them to shut up.

You should do some change up on the government organizations. Try Dept. of Justice, Bureau of Indian Affairs, US Geological Service, Bureau of Prisons, Dept. of Agriculture, Federal Railroad Administration, Centers for Disease Control, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, anything that's off the wall that will leave the SGs head spinning.

Also throw in lots of regulation numbers, subparagraphs and updates. You'll know you've done good when the SG starts going, "Hummada hummada!!"

DoD is well it is not a very nice term or affection for them as them jerks. DoD is the people who have jet fuel tanks in residential neighborhoods.
DoD is the Department of Defense.

Ahh churchy,but what was there first? The tanks or the neighborhood?
A few years ago,a gasoline pipe line broke in a northwest neighborhood here in town.Everybody shit nickles at Kinder-Morgan(the pipe line operator),NOBODY got pissed at the delevoper for building the houses near the pipe line,and not telling them. :mad:
There's also a large residential area at the end of the local Air Force base runway here. Everyone is upset at the aircraft noise. Well DUH,didn't you look at a map 'before' you bought your house?



I do like MS's DoD though,but that could apply to darn near anywhere.

There are not much records but my house was built about 1928 and the Hargett house is about 20 to 50 years older than that so we came first but that area was not developed until the 1950's.

Kinder Morgan is a bunch of lying conniving manipulative ..................
