Which ride will Disneyland torpedo to offset opening the subs?

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Next On The Chopping Block
I vote get rid of Pooh, that ones a snoozer. I think its time to do something new with HISTA, its a fun show but I think there is more to work with now. To bad Inoventions is all sponsered, I would like to see something else in that building, Inoventions can go anywhere.
How about a new plan, bring back the people mover, new show in HISTA, move Astro Orbiter back where it belongs and open up the entrance to Tomorrowland, new film for Star Tours, close Pooh.

Star Tours would probably get most bang for the buck in a retro-fit. The films are 20 years old and showing it. They would have a big outlay if they did old school model-making or CGI to create a new journey, but it wouldn't be that expensive to reprogram the motion simulation on the cabins. They could also re-do some of the pre-show segments and call it new and improved. There used to be a three hour wait when the ride was new, with the queue going around the Plaza Inn then down toward the Train Station on Main Street.svickersart wrote:How about a new plan, bring back the people mover, new show in HISTA, move Astro Orbiter back where it belongs and open up the entrance to Tomorrowland, new film for Star Tours, close Pooh.

Grab cockpit scenes from any of the movies and fill in the blancks with a computer, reprogram the simulator and all new ride, several in fact if you use several scenes. Pod racing anyone?

Actually there has been a long standing rumor that if/when the Star Tours films are redone, the new film would be pod-racing.svickersart wrote:Grab cockpit scenes from any of the movies and fill in the blancks with a computer, reprogram the simulator and all new ride, several in fact if you use several scenes. Have no idea how true that is, or WDI is just waiting for the green light.

Re: Next On The Chopping Block
One thing that bugs me about the Star Tours is the queue. The arrival/departure board above the queue near C3PO is a static sign. They could make it an LCD display or something, so that it changes once in a while like arrival/departure boards at real transportation centers.

I loved to nap or rest at HISTA. It was fine except if it was raining and you were in the handicapped area, the roof leaked. The films were out of sync and the viewing was bad. The film was dying a painfully slow death.
The motorboat ride in Fantasyland. You got a water ride that never was removed. Or did they actually remove?
Muppets needs a new show.
Bugs Life could use a new show.
Big Thunder Ranch is the biggest waste of space and needs to be reworked so that guests actually do something in that area.
Toontown has gotten boring.
How about a nice sit down service style restaurant with affordable meals not expensive like the Blue Bayou. Who remembers when they have a lot of sit down restaurants. Have it open until closing. Try to get food late at night can be a pain.
Descent pin trading area would have been nice.
It would be cheap for them to make new films and then advertise the all new films.

Re: Next On The Chopping Block
HISTA is a very good place for a nap, I dont do toontown to much, maybe RRCS and thats about it, even the 11 YO that goes with me isnt real interested. I like Tough to be a bug, its fun when there are a lot of people who havent done it before. I have heard rumor that muppets might get replaced by Mickey's Philharmagic and that would be great. Muppets is kinda funny, never a line here but in florida they line up out the door for it. They need something in the old Millionair building also. Cant wait to see what Nemo looks like later this month, hopefully that will be the begining of refurb of all Tomorrowland.

This type restaurant might appear @ DLR but "your" affordable & "their" affordable will never meet.mechurchlady wrote:How about a nice sit down service style restaurant with affordable meals not expensive like the Blue Bayou.
