Best Stupid Guest Ever

Post by Driver_dylan » Sun May 20, 2007 1:56 am

I don't know if this happens across the park, but at Monorails our Management staff will occasionally take a regular shift, In a regular uniform. This can make them hard for a guest to spot. In fact the only tell is that they keep their blackberry. So it was with great surprise and amusiment that I watched One of my managers deal with a really stupid guest, while in red & whites.
The problem started when the manager did not put down the wheelchair ramp for a stroller. This caused the guest to get a bit annoyed, which started into a onesided shouting match. This quickly esclated when the guest reallized that other people were watching. Then came the demand that made every CM winch. "I want to see your manager." :(
Enter Manager number two (in regular manager clothes) who is told by the guest, that all he did was politely ask for the ramp. And that the mean old CM told him know and to go to hell. The guest then proceeded to bring out several of the old standby lines of how he was so insulted he might never return.....Long story short, a real sob case. :bawl: :bsflag:
This continues for a few minutes untill the guest is told that the CM in question, is a senior manager. :hysteria: :hitfan: And the guest turned white and left in a stupor.
 Now here is my question, shouldn't that guest have had something happen to him. I mean he had just been caught trying to falsely Inpune the character of a CM.

It would be nice. I mean fair is fair,if a cm can catch flak for being a 'jerk',the guest should be just as 'wrong'.
While I'm sure some complaints are legitimate,I'm also sure some are downright B.S. (not what they wanted to here/did'nt get 'their' way)

If the guest is downright LYING,kick the stupid a**hole out. Likes that's going to happen.

Personally, I think such guests would be useful for a new attraction. Implement stockades on Main Street and lock 'em there for all to heckle and jeer as they walk by. Add some revenue to it by selling overripe tomatoes ($5 for 10 would be good) that people can chuck at 'em. Maybe get to kick their rear end for an addtional $10.

Please continue this idea. I like where you're going with this.

I'm not sure Main St is the place for this.

With the amount of SG's and let's add in stocks for SCM's and management, we would need much more space than Main St has to offer.

How about this,

The 5th theme park, done to different themes. 1st is the new Frontier land. Line the street with stocks and at the end, a gallows. Then there is Mideviel land, dungeons, racks, etc. Next comes Roman land, you're either a slave or crucified.

You get the idea. Any additional lands?

Seems to me the Mansion attic would be ideal. Pipe the screams throughout the building and into the queue.

Or, possible a part of the remake of Tom Sawyer's Island. Plank walking, keel hauling, all that picturesque pirate stuff.

Serviceland is where you take the role as a service industry employee.

Building one is where you will be a waiter and get your butt pinched and slapped, have kids in heelies trip you up and then you get cussed out because the guest forgot to tell you that they do not want croutons on their salad.

Building two is where you are a CM for the day and you get yelled at because of various things. We will put you in your Haunted Mansion doom buggy with a panel in front of you. Room 1 is where you must rapidly load rides, STUPID, not that way. Room 2 is restrooms and you must clean and stock the restroom while being yelled at because peter pan ride line is too long. Room 3 is where you are the ticket taker and they are SGS.

Building 3 is where you are in a bumper car like ride where you must hit spots on the floor which simulate trash and if not you get zapped.

Building 4 is where you are a tour operator with a guest who does the shows for you.

I am tired but that is the gist of it.

This is completely inappropriate.

Stocks belong in Frontierland, they would not match the theming on Main Street. :)

I've handled many, many, customer complaints over the years (I dont work for Disney) one thing I learned very quickly is not all complaints are ligitimate. People will lie to you non stop especially to get something for free. I investigate each complaint to the best of my ability and when I find the customer is lieing to me I call them on it. Most of my complaints happen over the phone and as soon as they know I have caught on the their BS they will hang up on me. If the customer sticks with it and my employee it contridicting the customers version I always give my person the benifit of the dought unless there is a history there to make me think different. I have even told customers that if they are not satisfied with our service they should go elsewhere. There are many people in this world that think the world owes them everything and it doesnt matter what you do for them, they will never be satisfied, they are only happy when they are complaining (see my ex wife) Also remember, for some people this is the only time they feel power, they are your guest, Disneys Guest, at home they still work at some nowhere job and they are nobody so they take it out on those of us that provide service to them.

Never let these people ruin your day, week, month, year or life, dont give them that power!

Nice additions Churchy.

Let's add to ServiceLand a Indy speedway like ride where you are a bus driver taking SG's back to the resort at closing, trying to load a scooter that is controlled by a SG who can't drive it, running over the drivers toes, etc.
